ok but he's guided them to there most success, so what are you comparing him too? The Stanley Cup Champions of every year. Because that pretty much the teams he loses to Ana Chi Bos LA, all went through Van for the Cup with AV as coach. And truthfully, I cant say the Canucks were ever better then those Cup winners. Maybe your expectations for AV to improve the Canucks are to high. The Canucks pretty much do what they should do almost every year, sometimes they even over achieve. I dont see the Canucks as ever underacheiving under AV, the contrary. They got a east coast hockey leaguer undrafted on there first line, Booth doesnt have instincts, Keslers always injured, Bieksas hurt, Hansen plays top 6? Just look at the record man, dispite all the injuries and sh%t through the years. I know you can question his methods. But with all due respect, who are you to measure AV's failures? You know the Canucks lineup better then a 2 time coach of the year? - gunner2233
If you are going to give AV credit for the success then you have to hold him responsible for the failure as well. This team has played like crap since mid way through last season, PT or not. Without the stellar goaltending this teams inability to score goals has been magnified. |

Sorry Micah but I am a huge Nuck fan and this guy is correct. I think he said it the best way! Right to the point. I like Ian and his blogs but a lot of the time they are unfounded or exaggerated with out knowledge of certain situations. Don't get me wrong I appreciate his enthusiasm, it's just misplaced sometimes. And I know he is just a fan like us but to be a respectable blogger you HAVE to know your facts. - Greg7705
Are you suggesting that you have all the "facts"? That's pretty pretentious if you ask me. Ian is stating his opinion, if you have a different one by all means share it, but calling the blogger an idiot for having a different opinion than you is base and uncalled for. |

Thought they capped extensions to 7 years? I guess it's 8, does that mean you can sign an UFA to a 7 year deal?
$8.25m/season, WOW! |

If Calgary contents for the NW ......which the way
Vancouver is playing they could do
If so they may be buyers and not sellers but if not do you not think Kipper,Iggy and Tanquay will not be on the trade block? |

No. The Chicago troll was bragging about being a doctor last month while trolling the thread. |

He's just asking a question, come on. He has no intent to troll just seeking an honest opinion. The retired doctor has a lot of time on his hands honing his non-combative communication skillz ( the skillz was a tribute to Ian). |

Oh, I see, the good doctor is aware of the awesome intellect of Canuck fans and wanted to get an unbiased opinion of whether or not the Flames three best offensive players wold be available at the deadline depending on their position in the standings at that time. |

Exactly.
You keep making your case to be a Mod, stronger and stronger.
For such an educated man he sure has troubles articulating himself. |

Are we posting useless proverbs now? Seriously.
We're not talking about how "good" the coach is—we're talking about how bad he is.
A coach can be worse than his players...
The Canuck players are playing poorly, yes, but the coach is a huge reason for their inneffectiveness.

That's not exactly true, a coach helps his/her players (employees) to be better at what they do. When the effort isn't there, it is the coaches responsibility to help the athlete/employee to figure out what's wrong and take steps to correct the problem.
Coaching focuses on future possibilities, not past mistakes. - John Whitmore
This is AV's problem, he is too focused on what a player is doing wrong, instead of helping them to find what is right. |

Apparently your evening of "Lone Wolf the bachelor" was way more entertaining than the game. Maybe you should do a webcast the next time your wife leaves you unattended. |

The first hour or so was exciting...but then the thrill of freedom was gone.
I just ended up getting too drunk and making a mess—now I'm hungover at work, and I have a mess to clean up when I get home.
It's like when a long-term convict gets out on bail—once the initial thrill of freedom is gone, you long for the structure and the security of the cell again... |
