Smid was awful that game. More than half the team was awful. Gagner, Brown, Eager, Petrell, Yakupov, and N. Schultz get passing grades. Petry and Jones were OK. Dubnyk held them in early until that flukey half rink goal which was kinda a microcosm of being an Oilers goaltender. The rest failed miserably.

The audio on the stream I'm watching started to lag and Louis Debrusk sounded like a pretty amazing robot on peyote.

I think they should embrace the rebuild this year, one more year at least, draft a stud like Seth Jones. Just tweeking the lineup and acquiring players for picks wont do it. This team is rock bottom, only have like 5 pieces, need like 5 more high end pieces through the draft. A feel more years of top 3 picks and the Oilers will have a great base to go forward with. This is a 5 plus more year deal.

Disagree. We need a big trade for a dman, and we need to sign a UFA dman. Those 5 pieces we need? three of them are dman. That's the main reason we suck. We need to bite the bullet and get an impact player now at the cost of picks, prospects and roster players.

If Simmonds, Schenn and a 2nd gets you Richards and Sutter, prospect and a 1st gets you Staal, then I want to trade Hemsky, Klefbom, 2nd(s), Pajaarvi, Gernat and a 1st (and probably more) and get two dmen worth a damn.

I think the good part about this game is that RNH had the second most hits in the game and only because Peckham was hitting everything in site.

The bad part for the Oil was... EVERY OTHER PART OF THE GAME.

Peckham got deer-shanked on the first Wilson goal but up until then had been playing well.

This is one of those games where I was counting the moments until I heard what Krueger and Co. have to say for themselves.

I can't find the quote from the guy that says that this thread is about the oilers trading for the same calibre of guys and a better goalie and expecting to improve.

I think I am just cool with the better goalie at this point. I stand by my statement before the season started. Gagner is going to surprise people, Hemsky is good till he gets injured and Duby is no starter. Also lowe and Tamb know nothing about building and managing a hockey club.
