Good point... I'll concede that he may have been rushed. - Reveen
Dear Friends,
Today I wrote something on the internet and another human being read it and realized I had a point and then conceeded that he may have been wrong.
Seriously, I didn't see bigfoot. I didn't get abducted by aliens, but I swear to god, that happened. |

I really thought this was the year Edmonton might make the jump, but I guess not. RNH isn't the same player, and if he's playing hurt he should tell the staff and should be sat down. He's only hurting the team with his non-productive play as an offensive player. Eberle is coming back down to earth this year, which is a big surprise for me since I had high hopes for him to start the season.
This team needs a lot of work and has a lot of growing up to do, it will be interesting to see who Edmonton ends up with in the draft and what kind of direction they're going to take. One bright spot has definitely been Schultz who is the real deal. |

Which of these two deals would you do....
Edmonton - B.Bishop
Ottawa - A.Hemsky
or
Edmonton - Bernier
LA - MPS and Happy Boozin

Neither to be honest. I'd like to see them put a team in front of Dubnyk before pulling the plug on him.
There is zero evidence that convinces me that Bishop and Bernier are better than Dubnyk. Both have horrible numbers compared to their starters. Look at Schneider at least he had good numbers, but now he has fallen back,. |

Of course.
Although this new info of Petrell playing center in Finland makes me want to give him a shot. He's a guy that if he could be 50% on the draw is a perfect 4th line center.

If he can play center then we have a fourth line...

Yep. He's worth it and all, but I see it hurting them in a few years when they have to trade him.
Bob Stauffer @Bob_Stauffer
The Oilers are 4-2-1 with Horcoff in and have won just 4 of 16 with him out. For a puck possession team losing a decent face-off guy hurts.. |

With Hemsky out for a game, what are the line combos?
1) Hall - RNH - Ebs? or Hall - RNH - Yak?
2) PRV - Gags - Ebs or Yak - Gags - PRV?
3) Eager - Belanger - Jones
4) Petrell - Smyth - Brown |

I would try
Hall / Gagner / Yakupov
PRV / RNH / Eberle
Smyth / Belanger / Jones
Eager / Petrell / Brown |

Again- building hopes on an unproven.
Would you do Horcoff + Dub + Hall = Miller and Regehr?
And, perhaps, then flip Whitney for secondary scoring?
Playoff team better than pining for another draft. - FLflames34
Haven't given up on Dubnyk yet. Hells no to Hall. Nuge perhaps... |

You haven't given up on Dubnyk but you're ready to write off Nuge for a d-man who is pretty much finished and Ryan Miller.
I hope you end up on the wrong side of a glory hole. |

You cannot possibly guarantee any of that and it's a ridiculous assertion. - kingbrehm
Why is it ridiculous? My point is simple. The young guns of the Oilers should have propelled an AHL team to a better record than what they achieved if they are as good as advertised. Cloutier blames the veterans for not winning...I am trying to make the point the the young players are not yet good enough to win given that they had trouble winning in a lesser league... |

The young players did their part in the AHL, it was the remainder of the team that sucked. |

both deals are getting goalies in return, unless edm gave up on dubnyk, i don't see a value of trying to acquire another goalie with edm assets. |

Happy Boozin is gone at seasons end. We need another goalie to replace him. Please don't say Yan Danis. |
