See this is why we get all the tards coming in here saying poop like "you shouldve taken Seguin, Landy, Gally" or whoever over the three firsts. They come to the Oilers, they are the team. The guys going to other teams? They get support and get to play sheltered minutes. You telling me Galchenyuck would be doing any better on the Oil? No (frank)ing way.
Ket the kids develop. Yes, they need better quality surrounding them, but its not even remotely as easy to get as everyone on here seems to think. Go get this guy or sign this guy? It doesnt work that way boys. Look at who is even avavilable on the market. And what is the price? Doesnt help the team at all to trade away one of the big 5 for a Clowe or OEL. There are no top pairing D men available or big top 6 wingers.
Guys need to realize things dont just happen because we want them to. That was the WHOLE point of building through the draft. Because guys the Oil want and need, just are not available through trades or free agency. - Iggysbff
Of course I don't think gally landeskog or seguin would make a difference. It's very easy to criticize the oilers as we are the target for picking first. I'm not doubting the oilers picks, I'm just thinking what could benefit yak the most. I was offering another route to yakupov developing rather than throwin him in the deep end.

Easy to think with how well the Leafs are doing but they were also in a very different situation. Theyve found a system that works for them and are sticking to it. Our players seemed determined to play their own way regardless of what Krueger says. - sanfordnson
I always thought Burke was overated. The best thing he did was get both of the Sedins. After that not much. |

But who would be on the roster in his place? Then the Oil really suck again. At least they are in every game this year. |

I would be OK with sitting him for a bit. Let him watch the game from up top for a while. They have him on the third to teach some defensive game, it helped PRV. |

I don't think so. I don't think CBJ actually moves him though, they sooner move Umberger.
I do however think come TDD if you really want to get rid of him you'll get the 1st+ for him. Not that I'm exactly a fan of that, but it would allow us some flexibility come draft time. |

Yak isn't exactly a guy that is helping this team.
With that being said AHL doesn't seem like a fit. |

If it did they should do it. Hemmer plus Petrell for Duby. I'd do it. Not sure the Jackets would. |

A first in that draft isnt a bad trading chip either. I would do Hemsky plus for Dubinsky though. Youre right they probably dont want to trade him. |

He did wrangle in some key pieces in Anaheim. Nieds was served up but he seized opportunity with Pronger and brought in guys like Moen and May etc. He does deserve some credit. Murray just deserves more. and he seems to have really made the Laffs better. |

True enough, I still think he is overated. At least he had the balls to make moves I guess. |

That would be spectacular. Im sure Katz' boyhood fandom has to be wearing pretty thin by now. The Habs cleared out an old boys club management group and its worked for them. - sanfordnson

The only good move by Tambellini was acquiring the 1st that became Oscar Klefbom for Dustin Penner.
Other than that, he's just stood on the sidelines and watched his team fail every year, drafting guys that a blind monkey could safely pick.
He got Justin Schultz cause Schultz wanted to play with all the blind monkey draft picks.
At least Brian Burke tried to make the team better. And was still able to acquire 1st,2nd and 3rd round picks for Antropov,Moore,Kaberle and Versteeg to keep up the rebuild while he did it. It must be frustrating for sure. |

#Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announces forward Chris VandeVelde has been assigned to the #OKCBarons
Either way, it's a good thing. Means Horcoff or Fistric are healthy or we are adding a body. |
