I don't know what your tring to say. the leafs are just doing what they need to do. Whatever the length of the season. What is anybody going to do? should not have been a strike. If what your saying or thinking is true then they should have just cancelled the season. The stanley cup is going to be awarded and ya gotta play under the circumstances regardless the length of the season does not matter. a team like say detroit or chicago is still gonna be a good team and win under whatever circumstances. can't use that as an excuse.

No my point was that don't assume that 24 games into this particular season is representative of what a team will be next year and for years to come in an 82 game season. Yes the cup is still awarded at the end, but the playoffs are a whole different season and no team is guaranteed to do well in the post season based on their regular season play this year. Don't forget it wasnt that long ago that the 8th seed beat the presidents trophy winner and went on to win the cup. Regular season don't mean poop in the post season.

Dear gods! What on earth compels some of you to post what you do? To those of you suggesting line-ups where we trade all our vets and roll with rosters full of "young guns" I say; what in the hell are you thinking?! Lander as our third line center next season?! You realize that theres a good chance that Lander never becomes even close to the player that Horcoff is now, right? And how about Hartikainen on our second line? What a joke! He's looked pretty solid in his limited role and is probably our best forward down behind the net, but he just doesn't have the instincts to play a top-6 role quite and may never achieve such. Then- get this- Fistric and Smid as our top D pair?! FISTRIC AND SMID?!!?! WHAT IN THE HELL?! Both are essentially Dmen that are better suited to bottom 3 roles, but instead you toss them on as our #1 shutdown D pair? You want to know what makes that even better? They chose to move Petry in their scenario! The same Petry that has been our most complete defensman this year by a country mile!

Richard, you, and everyone else that agrees with you, are wrong! You're sick of losing? Well that's what you signed up for when you chose to support the Oilers in their rebuild. Want management to cleanse the team of the only vets we've got? Then you'd better be prepared for a whole (frank) tonne of a lot more losses

I'm going to cut this rant here and go to bed and hopefully by the time I awaken from my alcohol-induced slumer with a throbbing head and sore body, this garbage will be finished! For good!!!

Meh, as much as I hate those (frank)ers and want them to lose everyday, there is no guarantee that a full rebuild is the way to go or that it guarantees success. Hindsight being 20/20, some people on that team could have been traded while their value was higher, rather than missing the playoffs by a few points each of the last three seasons. but after feasters recent offer sheet debacle, his failure won't be complete till they miss the playoffs again for the 4th year in a row.
