Myers is not untouchable. His stock is fallen, and if you are set on Dubs (I am not):
Gagner + Smid + Horcoff (buyout) and a 3rd for Myers + Leino

- FLflames34

do i care about edm goaltending, sure, but it's not on top of my list and it shouldn't be on majority of edm fan list.

kippers numbers to date is 2.95gaa, dubnyk 2.79gaa...i think i'll hang on to dubnyk for now.

He has been one of your most consistent guys for sure, But damn if there was ever a perfect match for a trade..
- Cheeseballin

creates another hole in 2c if gagner is traded. ideally edm needs a top 6 power forward and top 2 d-man. myers has potential to fit that spot. foligno maybe untouchable...stafford is prob expendable.

Moreover - they'd need a center replacement by the summer.

If we're putting Hall on the block I hope the return is better than that.
- sanfordnson

Are you thinking OV type return?
If they scored Alex, I may become a Wales Conference fan

True dat, but Kip is a slow starter no diff than Iggy. He had the unfortunate situation of being injured in his best game of the yr (until last night)

He will be better. Mid 2s and 910 is ok by me.

Dubs is not a game changer. If not Miller, how about a veteran(ish) like Varlamov, or Hiller.

Ennis is still a question mark if he can be a long term solution at center. Been horrific on faceoffs. Never can have too much center depth in my opinion, yet good young 6'7 defensemen don't come around very often. Just wish he would be more physical.

Nail and OV?
That'd be worth giving up Hall if you ask me.
Especially if you got Holtby.

I hate cheering for a team with a lack of tradeable fantasy assets

I'm not saying gags is bad or worthless to our team... But Myers (Even though he's "Declining") fills a big hole on our backend. He's so big and just needs time to develop/experience more. Buf would be stupid to let him go if you ask me. Gags is small and slow. His heart is irreplaceable and it would be tough to find someone to pick up his slack. That being said, Myers is a better player.

If we could trade for him without giving up Sammy, i'd be all for it. But what would get that done if we're leaving him out?

Anderson from Ottawa.
- AlEx_OiL

Good fit, but is he safe injury wise?

I've been on the Bishop drum since they got him from St Lou. Get Bishop, get your future franchise goalie....for cheap.

Edm won't win w the management, coach and vets they have. They are all actual losers. Not in the mean way, rather they don't know how to win.

If I'm gm here s what I do to right the ship.

1. Clean house. Everyone is gone. New staff ala Mtl
2. New coach. Sorry but Krueger ain't the answer. Former assistant coaches in ur org never work.
3. Move Dubnyk. Get a goalie in there that can win. Someone somewhat proven and someone who can steal games would help. I'd be all over Ottawa for Anderson, although you'd likely have to send a lot to make it happen. Mike Smith, Jonas Hiller are other options perhaps.
4. Buy out Smyth and Horcoff. Get better leaders that actually lead by example and who aren't losers.
5. Trade one of my stars, likely Hall. Two reasons, it shakes things up, telling these guys losing ain't accepted anymore and no one is safe, and you trade from strength to improve a weakness.

A few other moves here and there of coarse but these are my primary starting points.

At this point youd have to give up a ton. Likely something you wouldn't want to part with. Anderson is a beast. Plain and simple.

yes, i'll give you that, kipper slow starter. i don't think dubnyk should be discounted on the fact he is still young, he got a two year term, needs to prove himself and get some experience. he's got two years...make it or break it.

you think varlamov or hiller is game changer? the varlamov that let edm come back with unanswered goals in a game? the hiller that fasth is maybe soon to take over number one ana goaltending? watching kipper steal the show from sjs last night, i rather take kipper over hiller and varlamov.

OK, you want to trade Hall? We'll send you Gardiner, Scrivens and MacArthur, for Hall and Dubnyk. Is it a deal?

Oilers know that but if the Nudge goes down Gagner is the savior, plus Oilers got couple or tree good big D players coming up next year and maybe 2 of the 3 could make the team but one for sure.

Bishop could likely be had for a fair price, not cheap though. Not sure if he is franchise material yet. Calgary should trade for him. Kipper won't be around forever

True giving up a center right now might not be the best idea for you either. Plus if you do have 2 more rookie defencman next year better be prepared for more seasons of losing. I'm not saying they are bad, but thats alot to expect from rookies and probably the youngest NHL team in years in general.

Creating holes with knee jerk reactions is never a good idea.

Oilers are in a horribly weak trading position right now. Any trades are a bad idea.
