Doubtful, the kids are still too young and your vets are terrible. There also seems to be a culture of losing which management has incudbated for too long.
Not trying to troll, just stating the obvious. EDM may still be a couple years before the big turnaround.

- Holy_Makinaw99

if the Oilers change the old smelly underwears I mean the vets, the Oilers will improve..

Salo had some strong moments but I had little faith in him.

Gawd I hope Dubnyk can prove to be more clutch then that.

- Salvo

Again- building hopes on an unproven.
Would you do Horcoff + Dub + Hall = Miller and Regehr?

And, perhaps, then flip Whitney for secondary scoring?

Playoff team better than pining for another draft.

I think he would understand losing more being on a young team like the oilers. He can be very emotional, Having a veteran like Miller would give the whole team more confidence IMO.

miller won't come to edm. who is safe in buffalo? on paper, team looks good, but what changes need to be make on that team? is foligno and myers untouchables?

4-3 Oilers - no realism allowed. Only positive intention.

Too bad for the injury. That was a Stanley Cup team. I thought they'd win that yr.

Kind of like Calgary's phantom goal.

- FLflames34

that Oilers team that got to the final is the reverse of what the Oilers are now, that Oilers team had good vets and grit and a goalie but not the amount of skill the current Oilers team have now.

Myers is not untouchable. His stock is fallen, and if you are set on Dubs (I am not):
Gagner + Smid + Horcoff (buyout) and a 3rd for Myers + Leino

Sub replacements.
Regehr is a UFA, the shutdown you need (even if limited) and creates cap space.
Miller is your Fuhr. Fawk Hall if that is what you get.

Make a counter- I am Regeir.

Secondary scoring is a huge issue, don't have very strong depth, and our defence have be quite underwhelming to say the least this year for whatever reason. Coupled with giving up a ton a shots per game. I don't know what our
Gm is thinking ever so its tough to say, I can't see him shipping out Myers after the contract he just gave him. Trading Kassian last year pretty much cemented Foligno as being our only true power forward, plus the family history so I can't see hi m being traded either

Well dude, I can't argue with the impact of having a top five starter. You know it all too well. Then again not so much.

25 teams want him. And it ain't a bad case to make. Interesting though, we rarely, if ever, see a RNH or Yaks dealt for a Miller type.

EDIT: Oh ya, fukk no I don't do that deal.

I dont believe the Oilers need to trade Hall,Nuge,Eberle,Yakupov or J. Shultz to get the help they need, any other player I didnt mention can bring some help.
- AlEx_OiL

I just think if they want to turn it around quick, they'll need to deal one of those guys to get something significant. The other guys could get some pieces, but not an impact player that can turn the team around. Other than that, just need to wait it out.

Gagner would be perfect for this team. Myers and a Gagner deal would be a good match.

I dont believe the Oilers can afford to trade Gagner right now even if its for Myers.

I believe they could. What is the risk- not making the playoffs

Two teams, opposite conferences, both wealthy with youth.

Myers needs a new scene. Oil need a legit dman. Gagner will be expendable next yr anyways. This is a win-win, assuming Miller is too hard to get done.

The concern...Tambs and Regeir are the most risk-averse GM's in the league. I think this makes a difference for both clubs.

Who knows, Leino could be a shot in the dark that pans out, and the space for Buff (w buyout plus their UFA's falling out) could result in them finally formulating a chemistry Pegula will be proud of. Remember, this is the yr of buyouts- frees up money for flyers.

Win-win.

Moreover - they'd need a center replacement by the summer.
