Oh the last couple games goaltending hasn't been the problem, but it has been very inconsistent. Seems to go: offense is good, goaltending/defense bad and goaltending/defense good, offense disappears. We see what happens when both play well, just happens way too randomly

Lindback was solid tonight. Offense let him down. This team just needs to get things to come together at the right time, like you say. The problem is that this season is halfway through. If we are going to make a run at things this season, they've got to get things figured out sooner rather than later. Otherwise, look to the lottery.

2 goals in each of the last two games! How much better does he need to be? He's really played alot better and will continue to improve. There is no (frank)ing reason, with the firepower we have to only have 1 goal against a mediocre back-up.

How does a team with Stamkos, St. Louis, Lecavalier, Malone, Hedman, Salo, Purcell, and Conacher only score one goal on Al Montoya? This is more confounding than any physics problem in history.

My hope for next season:
Killorn Lecavalier St. Louis
Conacher Stamkos Purcell
Pouliot Thompson Palat

Hedman Salo
Carle Barberio
Brewer Aulie
Gudas

Lindback

I love Malone, but he's worth more on the block. Lees gotta go as does MAB

Brewer's been pretty brutal too.
Having said that, I don't think Poulliot is getting resigned. Has played really well, but there's just so much depth coming through from syracuse that something has gotta give. Connolly, Johnson, Panik, Brown etc. I honestly would love to see a really young team next year. Both on D and up front.

Everybody has been ragging on Lindback. Boltprospects was rough. He struggled through the first games, but it looks like to me that he has turned a corner. I'm more brutal then most, but considering his age, inexperience and our teams inconsistency perhaps we should give him a little more time before crucify him?

This^
I've been trying to get this point across about Lindy. It's really not been his fault, and I thought he had a solid game tonight. It's just the fact that it really is 2 different teams playing in front of him at this point. I think he gives the team a chance to win on most nights.

I doubt Pouliot gets re-signed, and wouldn't be surprised to hear his name pop up in deadline rumors if we are out of the picture. Like you said, he has played really well, but there's too much depth coming up through the system to have him stick around. As sad as it makes me, the same story is likely true for Ryan Malone. JT Brown, Brett Connolly, Cory Conacher, and Richard Panik are all theoretically ready for full time winger jobs. That doesn't leave a whole lot of room for other folks.

I've maintained that we have a good goalie in him. Were the goals tonight stellar? No. But any time you've got a goalie allowing two goals per game, you should win that game. One thing I pointed out is that he has been beaten a number of times just like he was on the second goal. He seems reluctant to use the poke check, for whatever reason.
