As long as he's back for the playoffs im ok with it.. plus the rest will help. They have a big enough cushion. I could care less if Anaheim catches them for the President's Trophy.

Was anyone watching the TSN2 feed last night...Kouleas and Jamie Mclennan are blind....they were praising Stalberg for the Carcillo go-ahead tally...saying he "hung in there" and made it happen. That was Kruger all the way. Beauty play down low...took a hit, and made a nice pass out front. All Viktor did was shoot it, Carcillo with the rebound. They are awful.

Nobody gives a poop about the Preaidents trophy. As long as we have a full healthy roster starting in Round 1. Whatever seed the Hawks are as long as they are healthy the Hawks jave a good shot to go deep !

Sounds right based on what we all saw.
Those guys reporting Sharpie will only be out 2 to 3 weeks are wishfully dreaming. And no sense in bringing the guy back too early when we have a little breathing room to let him get 100%.

Caveat Emptor.

My experience has been ... they can't really effectively read an MRI until the swelling goes down anyway.

Shoulders are funny things. Lots of little muscles and connective tissue that can be damaged, but from the looks of it, I would say separation. Although, Dennis, I will say I have had a lingering shoulder issue since a ski accident a few weeks back that "started" as a bruise on my clavicle. I would not rule out clavicle either, judging by what I saw. But they really won't know for sure til they do an MRI and can read it. I would guess he has swelling.

I would credit Viktor for getting open for a shot. That much, but nothing more. I don't recall who the Av defender was Kruger beat, but he looked a lot bigger than Kruger. That was a great hockey play, beginning to end.

VIK WAS OTHERWISE VERY GOOD THOUGH. HIS ENERGY I THOUGHT KEPT THE HAWK SIN IT IN THE THIRD.

I think Stalburg can fill in for him nicely with Kane and Bolland. This is the good thing about having a pile of forwards that can slide up and play well. The key for me is Shaw. Looked like a concussion, but who knows.

Exactly what JJ said. Who knows what grade it is. Grade 1, out a couple weeks. Grade 2 out a few more. Grade 3 surgery maybe. I am in the hopeful section, grade 1 out 2-3-4 weeks. One can hope right?

Read a Tomas Fleischmann from Florida rumor to the Hawks.

I saw his offensive numbers would fit great on the 2nd line but what about defensively? I just want to know a bit more about his game.

Keep up the good work, I am sure it can't be easy for you writing almost daily but I am sure it is fun. Your work is greatly appreciated by me and I am sure by all the rest of us who read your blog.

Thanks

We won't know for quite a few days perhaps. Who knows how long the swelling will take to diminish and there's pro's and con's to trying to force the swelling down quicker. Time will tell but I look at it this way. There is nearly 8 weeks until the playoffs start. If he's out even 6 weeks, maybe 7, there's still a couple games to play before the playoffs to help him get his timing back.

Yea I saw this too. How do the lines look when Sharp comes back then? Seems like a pointless trade if it happens.

To be quite honest I'm a little more concerned with Shaw's injury then Sharp's. This team needs another guy with concussion problems like I need a hole in my head.

Early word: 3-6 weeks, grade 2 separation, MRI today or tomorrow to confirm or see if there are any breaks or tears. Not confirmed, but from a source.

- John Jaeckel

I've had subluxation twice. It sucks but nothing was severely torn. Lotta sore but still pretty functional.

Grade two would not be terrible.

Thanks Greek.

I had not heard the Fleischmann rumor. Curious where you heard it.

I HAVE heard they had a lot of interest in Weiss, but the conversation might now have shifted to Fleischmann. Fleischmann is alot like another guy I am fairly sure the hawks have been kicking the tires on: Brassard. So this is not unlikely.

I take it this is Sharp's left shoulder since it was the one along the glass and partitions. One thing that may be a bit of a blessing in disguise is with Sharp being a RH shot; upon his return he won't be stressing the repaired area quite as much.

I would say the initial rumors of 2-3 weeks would sound about right. 3-6 weeks would be a pretty significant should injury

Ryan Callahan popped his shoulder out of place and only missed about 10 days

You are welcome JJ. It was on twitter from that Hockey Insiderr who is mostly miss anyway. I was just curious about Fleischmann as I haven't seen him play too much.

#Blackhawks will activate defenseman Steve Montador from injured list. He will not play tonight vs. Avs. Michael Frolik still out.

I agree on Smith being called up maybe for the fourth line and I would do Morin(better skater and scorer) before Hayes for that second line wing.

Thing is, if the source is correct and they're doing an MRI, no one knows until then if the shoulder just popped out or if there is more or ancillary damage.

Ummm, yeah, I would avoid that guy. Although I will say Fleischmann makes sense on some levels.

Could be an AC joint. Very painful at first, no breaks or dislocations. Can't lift your arm up for a few days, but usually only takes about 2 weeks or so until return.

Isn't Fleischmann a winger though? I thought he played center, but I am seeing him listed as a winger on most sites. Plus it looks like he doesn't take many faceoffs. Could be wrong though...

And the uncalled offsides when they scored their 2nd goal.

What are you talking about? I just watched it again and the play on Duchene's goal was nowhere near offside.

Pierre LeBrun wrote on Tuesday that the Hawks have already had internal discussions about who they're targeting via trade so I do anticipate them making a move or two before the deadline. Fleischmann would be a nice addition but the Hawks would have to deal him again in the offseason or send someone(s) else packing because after this year he's stilled owed $9 mil over the next 2 seasons.

Sharp's body language said separated shoulder, and even if he's out three to six weeks, that might be the best case scenario.

I had an arthroscopic + mini-open procedure on a partially torn rotator cuff six months ago and I just got cleared yesterday to do whatever I want in the gym. It is a tricky joint and a very slow recovery; I was told to expect 8-12 months for a full recovery.

I was thinking AC joint as well. Here is hoping for grad 1.
