The Hawks have the full 23 players allowed on the active roster. They can't call anyone up unless someone is put on the 7 day IR, which Sharp is almost a lock to go on IR. Otherwise the flu bug isn't a reason to put anyone on IR.
So we might see one guy from Rockford called up, but only if Sharp (or someone else) goes on IR. - Hemingways
Thanks fo the Math lesson
IF Shaw and Sharp are out that for 7 days that leaves 2 spots. I would waive MAYERS and go with a third young gun. I don't see his value in this compacted... fast schedule
The longer the season goes the more I like youth

Seems like the Aves have a few more problems than dealing with the Hwks again on Friday. - bogiedoc
I hope that's legit.
Young captain Landeskog has his hands full with that locker room. |

I think the Hawks should trade a 4th and 7th, plus Beach and Morin for Giroux from Philadelphia......
.........and yes that was sarcastic. About as asinine as people thinking the Hawks would ever get Getzlaf.
I propose a 7 day board ban for anyone suggesting the Ducks will make this trade with us. |

I suggest a permanent ban on suggesting trades with teams that employ Bob Murray as GM...
...nothing will happen. |

If the flu is going around, he should be! Keep that crap quarantined from the rest of the locker room. If Hossa is sick, he shouldn't be on the plane, either! - Lash8
Actually that Madden-mobile was in reference to Shaw. But what the hell. |

Maybe last year when he was underperforming and perhaps the Mighty entertained notions of dealing him. No way this year and not to the Hawks. Getzlaf is playing great, they are thin at center, and I'm guessing (along with others it sounds like) that he'll be the one they pony up the cash for over the summer.
I think the Ducks look like a lock to to make the playoffs and with that team could make a run. I know there have been rumblings of maybe Perry going somewhere at the deadline but I don't see it. I'd think you'd have to hang onto him and take the chance of letting him walk after the season; would suck for them but if they think they can win you have to keep him.

In the catagory of
the Hockey News got that S-look:
I got the top 50 prospects and
the experts there say Brandon Saad is the 33rd best "prospect" and Teuro Teravainen is the 34th best...
the top eight guys on the list are already in the NHL.
It is as if they worked on this over the work stoppage and once the games begin, no one thought it might need tweaking?????
This exactly why for the last five years, I have dusted them on first round draft by at least 3 -7 more correct mock choices in their Mock Draft.
I love Future watch and have KEPT everyone even the first newspaper ones, basically as a comical enjoyment.
The Hockey news basically takes the word of beat reporters whose info is sppon feed to them by GMs who are over-hyping their farms.
It is truly amazing how the team rankings and overall listing of the "futures" is NEVER even close to how things turn out.
I almost want to wait until the summer and spend two weeks writing a long article that takes everyone backwards and displays the futility and ridiculousness of this endeavor.
It is especially funny when you go back after you watch a team come to prominance, like for instance the Ray Emery Hossa Alfredsson Halvat Senators team that made it to the finals...
The listings had tons of players listed in the 1-3 slots for five draft years who were in no way part of the team's success.
Just saying Future Watch is more like Future "Dreams."

If ONLY that could happen...
I am so tried of the dumb homers suggesting silk purses for sow's ears...NO
I am tired of any of you suggesting any trades!
Enjoy and let life go on....maybe somewhere within the organization someone steps up...
but nobody is doing us favors...

They generally only hear what the team wants them to. Or if they hear otherwise, depending on who they work for they have to be careful about going out with it.
