Not being a homer but he was pretty damn great. Never gave up on a play and created a ton of opportunities. Unfortunately it did'nt translate to goals but he was great none the less. - Cptmjl
It blows my mind that Moulson and Boyes still can't figure out that they should have their sticks on the ice at all times even if Tavares' back is turned. He'll find the open guy when everyone least expects it! |

I'm starting to come around to the AMac hate. Although I'd say Hamonic has made more mistakes leading to goals over the past handful of games. Directly responsible for both goals against Ottawa, and last night, he ruined a successful faceoff by passing the puck directly to Nash on the Rangers' first goal. - UIF
welcome, we can make room for one more....hamonic has been bad but i think he is just being overworked and tired. he has not been as physical this year, hits and majors are down, and he looks slow. he should be used as a 2nd pairing dman. not logging 25 minutes a game!!! |

Moulson definitely did not have his best game yesterday. |

You know what I mean, he wasn't the same as he was the last time he played the rangers at MSG. He was amazing that game. Not the same last night, but certainly not bad either. |

As do islander fan they beat the rangers. Please don't tell me that the only reason the Isles lost last night is because they can't spend to the cap. - tomburton99
never said that. Just saying that coming in and saying that the Islander sole purpose is to try to beat the Rangers is a little d!cky and narcissistic. |

the ONLY reason...no.
but please dont tell me that you dont think having an extra $20 million more of talent would have significantly helped last nights team... |

Boyes sucks, I'd rather have Acoin on that line. I've seen enough of Brad Boyes for a life time. he was God awful last night. |

I just think we're expecting too much of Hamonic right now. The kid had a great first season and appeared miles ahead of where a 20 year old defeneseman should be at his age so suddenly we threw a #3 dman role on him and expected him to be able to carry an AHL level dman on his pairing. It's simply too much. Hamonic should be paired with a vet who knows where to be and how to switch off forwards. Instead he's with a guy who doesn't know how to position his body on board play and constantly over commits on plays. AMac does not have the skill to makeup for mental lapses. His first season he played careful (likely to being timid) and therefore was a conservative player. Now he seems to be overly aggressive which just exploits the talent deficit. |

Splitting hairs here I know but that does'nt help your point. In other words if we had an additional 20 mil in players that may have been a different game last night. |

BIGGEST period of Islanders hockey in quite a few years....SHOW SOMETHING, MAKE A STATEMENT, BEAT THE (frank)ING RANGERS. LETS GO ISLANDERS!!!!
this was going into 3rd period.
Personally I think this is the norm, not the exception, with how Isles fans act toward Ranger games.
Perhaps I am wrong. |

He played, well. But usually he's at his best against the rangers and Lundqvist. He was passing very well last night. But when he played agaisnt the Rangers at MSG the night Jt Miller made his debut, Tavares was the best player on the ice that night. Last night, i thought he was good. But Certainly not the best plaer on the Ice. Grabner and Boyes were flying last night. Easily the best islander forwards last night. |

Obviously, but you think the 20 million in extra cap wouldn't help the likes of Phoenix, Dallas or Columbus? I think the Islanders are better than Columbus, maybe Dallas. |

Boyes was terrible, i have no idea who you were watching. Except for that one play where he should've buried it he was awful. Grabner was awesome, I see your point. Love Grabs |

But that was'nt the point of the intial post. You said someone was half baked thinking we lost because we did'nt spend to the cap. We were'nt discussing other teams we were talking about the Isles. My reply was it has something to do with it and it does as we just discussed and you said yourself. |

You are. You're always going to find a number of fans who carry the emotion of rivalries past. Hell, to this day most of my dislike for the Rangers stems from ending Bernie Parent's career (which subsequently led to my being an Isles fan). Some fans get very caught up in the geographic rivalries. That said, I don't think a single person on this board would have called that the biggest period in a couple of years. Of course we haven't had many big periods in a few years |

you found 1 guy on twitter calling it the biggest period in a few years...not much of a sample size.
philosophically speaking, every "next period" IS the most important period in years.. hell in franchise history!!! |

Guy is terrible. Coughs up the puck, for every good pass he makes five bad ones, weak on the puck. Last night he was out of the play the second and third period. |

It's a rivalry, of course Islander fans get pumped. Your going to tell me you weren't just a little extra excited about this win? But to say the Islanders main goal is to beat the Rangers is egomaniacal.
