I dont think so either, and as long as he's here they cant move the C to someone much more deserving like Okposo!

That's my biggest problem with this, not the okposo part of course but it's time to put the C on JT.

Im not defending snow but who said he was going to offer Mark a multi year 5mill per contract? Thats what Mark is reportedly asking for... not what is being offered.

I hear you, read it incorrectly. Did say, "if it were true" at the bottom there but missed that it was HIS demands. Either way if he got it or anywhere near it it'd be a travesty.

grew up with my dad a big Canucks fan, they dressed me a Thomas Gradin Canucks jersey and I never heard of the Islanders until age 6. 1980. Dad watching the Stanley Cup finals and I'm watching the Isles for the first time. My dad used to complain about the Canucks every game during the game. Then along comes this team from New York that is ROLLING over competition. Physical, talented, great defense and goaltending. Star players like I've never seen before.

That was it. There never was any other team I'd cheer for again.

one very cool story I have is from when I was 15-16 years old and at the Canucks/Isles game here in Vancouver. I was wearing my Isles jersey and an older man about 5 rows behind me was also wearing an Isles jersey along with his wife. In the first intermission he walked down and started asking me why I was wearing the Isles jersey living in Vancouver. We talked for a bit and he explained that he and his wife were from Long Island and were following the Isles on their western road trip. This was before the internet, so the only Isles coverage I got was a tiny blurb in our local paper once every few weeks, a box score and if I was lucky, a game on tv once or twice a year

He took down my name and address and for the reason of the season he mailed me the weekly sports paper from Long Island so I could read all the Isles news. This guy and his wife had seasons tickets and I'm sure most of you will remember the sombreros thrown onto the ice occasionally after an Isles hattrick at home. Guess who? That was him and his wife.

It's been about 25 years since I met him but it's just another great story as one Isles fan looking out for another. I remember his company name but I wish I could remember his. All star Trucking.

That guy made every week like christmas for me for a half season. Every time I saw a sombrero on the ice it made me smile.

Awesome story. Did you eventually fall out of contact with them? Or do you still stay in contact?
- Vukota

Unfortunately when I was 19 I moved several times and lost his address info. I really wish I still had it.

it still blows me away that he mailed me the paper every week. Every week there would be a package with a return address of all star trucking from long island new york with the copies of newsday's sports section. For a kid that never travelled and rarely ever got to see the Isles, that was an incredible gesture.

Id love to see him resigned for maybe 2 years maybe 3per, without the C... that will NEVER happen so I say trade him at the deadline for a second rounder maybe in a package for a 1st... if we could get a first for Campoli & Comrie, I think Mark & a third could get a first.

I agree with you. 5 mil a year isn't bank breaking, especially for this team. If they're working off Wang's internal budget of the floor then we have better ways of spending that 5 mil a year.

Yeah, he'd fit a teams need come playoff time I can see it happening, mid to high first maybe more? That is my biggest problem with resigning him too.

You may know him as Goldie at the Coliseum

A West Hempstead man was arrested on charges he forcibly touched a female in the Nassau Coliseum parking lot after the Islanders game on Sunday night.

According to detectives, a 21-year-old victim was standing outside the Uniondale-based Coliseum with friends when Craig Stanley, 54, allegedly approached the group and proceeded to touch the victim in an inappropriate manner.

Stanley is charged with Forcible Touching and is scheduled to appear on March 19 at First District Court in Hempstead.

The best picture I've ever seen is him holding a sign protesting the Fisherman jerseys that says "No more fishsticks" while he's wearing a Fisherman jersey
