No your the one doing the embarrassing with your honorable internet talk, give me a break. Yeah i hate the flyers and i hate flyers fans end of story, and to be honest i hate Pens fans that try and act all high and mighty talking with honor on the internet.

You need to get some help you maladjusted little person. I certainly do hate penguins fans like you if that makes you feel any better.

Pronger will address the Philly media at noon.

Jesus, I hope he doesn't announce a retirement. That dead cap space is scary

Apparently Grossmann, Read and McGinn are on the ice this morning and Pronger will talk to the media.

Do we still have to pay him the remainder of his contract if he retires? If not then I think he'd wait it out. Sort of a win-win.

With Wellwood back to the Phantoms I expect that Read will probably be back in the line up either tonight or Sat... We'll have to see how much the pain impacts his play.
As for Mez I can hope right? But I honestly don't expect to see him until next week at the earliest.
And my guess for Grossmann is that he'll be out tonight but they'll rush him back in this weekend (either Sat or Sun) well before he should be. So he'll be fighting the injury the rest of the season.

Insurance might pay it, because it would be an injury retirement.

Pronger doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to take advantage of that situation. Make no mistake, I'm sure Snider will take care of him like he has done since founding the team. But cap wise this is going to hard to swallow.

He didn't mention retirement during the Sportsnet interview. I'm hoping/expecting a rehash of that.

I think Grossmann returns tonight and Read for the Bruins.

Meszaros says he's not ready, but he said that about the achillies

Be great if he said: "I've made a lot of progress over the last week since I gave that interview. I feel great. I have 31 year old eyes all of a sudden. I'll be suiting up, including a visor, in a week. Giroux can keep the C as long as he doesn't go all Richards on us."

$4.9 million of dead cap space for 4 years would hurt SO much. They need to make up a rule in order for Pronger to retire on his own terms and for the Flyers not to get penalized for it.

That was not mentioned, but I'd guess so...they don't have infomercials at noon.

Is there anything in the new cba about injury forced retirements for 35 plus contracts? I thought they'd fix that idiotic rule.

Nope. If Pronger retires, they're stuck.

Same thing if he passed away. It's a dumb rule. I understand the rationale behind it.

The problem is that you cannot guarantee that a player signed to a long term deal will remain injured and not recover over the life of the contract.

Now for a death, there should certainly be a rule involving that. Pretty sure a player that passes away unexpectedly isn't goign to recover.

In other sad, hockey related news, Ronny Keller of the Swiss League has been left quadriplegic after a gruesome head first collision with the boards...

Tough to watch.. amazing it isnt a more common issue, thankfully.
