Better lateral movement? Boucher or Bynum?

The coach has been questionable at times this year but the GM has put together the current roster.
- stveshdy

There's coaches out there winning games and doing well with less talented rosters.

Despite it's weaknesses, the Flyers have a lot of talent.

I'm really surprised that people don't believe in this coach or the team anymore. This team is still learning and will get better. Plenty of time left in the season.

Murray for all of his good work, struggled to get consistency for the Kings as well.

He doesnt seem to me, like the guy who can take this team to the top. Murray also hasn't won a playoff round in how long? Murray scares me. Too much of a Stevens vibe.

His ties are ugly as well.

- flyer_nutter

They wouldn't be looking for Murray to take them to the top.

He threw all kinds of money at key players during the off season, can't say he didn't try

i'm not even angry. i fully believed the result could happen after the first period and it played out exactly like i thought.

what i am annoyed with is lava's decision making - regarding rinaldo. briere. goaltending. everything.

I'm looking at him as a short term, interim guy. Not interested in hiring him on a permanent basis. Want him to come in, instill discipline, teach the kids how to play better two way hockey and hold people accountable.

Then hire a Dallas Eakins or Jon Cooper in the summer.

- Jsaquella

At the end of the day, I have nothing against d-first coaches.

That is what Carlyle is for the most part. He would have been a solid addition to take over this team.

This.

Other GMs would probably love to see the Flyers panic and start dealing talent.

i'm not a homer fan, but the lack of discipline and the predictability of their futility in particular game situations and lack of attention to details is more on the coaching staff.

homer had a rough off season, no doubt.

Not getting Weber or Suter, for that matter, left me a little pessimistic going into the season, which was amplified by the lockout. The slow start and the seesaw play to this point has lead me to believe that not making the playoffs and bettering our draft position would be more beneficial long term.

More to come

I am generally very optomistic, but points are getting scarce. 25th in the NHL in pts earned per game isn't all that inspiring. I haven't given up yet, but they better not chace their tails again dumping picks for older veterans. If they finish were they are the 6th pick is a heck of a chip.

It's ricotta cheese though. NOT fruity at all.

Plus, I'm hungry anyway.

Led Zeppelin is amazing.

And I'm bored. Hence NHL 13.

I have a realistic reason for everything

The thing is, by and large, Laviolette's success came when he either had veteran teams or a leader like Pronger or Brind'Amour.

Teams have to play both sides of the puck and adjust when their gameplan isn't working....they don't.

Ive seen reports of the Flyers scouting teams pretty hard.

I think they tried to give them a boost with Gagne, and at the end of the day he hasnt been bad.

Only make moves for long term. I am going to be watching Coots harder for the rest of the season. He seems to be really struggling getting anything going offensively.

Last year it took 92 points to get into the PO's. Using my fuzzy math, that means it'll take 54 points to squeeze in this year.

The Flyers have 23 points after 25 games. Loosely calculating, that means they'll need 31 points over the next 23 games to get to the dance.

Doable?
