I'd much rather talk hockey, trust me, I just found it humorous that a Flyers fan would criticize originality when those seem to be any Flyers fans go-to trolling comments.

OK...hockey talk. Does anyone see this game being low scoring? Both teams realizing how bad that last game was? I hope so, I would much rather see a game like game 1 this year than the last game, not because of outcome but because of the actual play.

Flyers D lineup looks brutal, but the way the Pens D has been I don't think it is really much worse. My prediction = 4-2 Flyers.

- bri29smith

Again, I'm criticizing one poster's lack of originality. He's often in here with his vapid attempts at humor and it's tiresome. I'm sure that there's plenty of idiots rooting for the Flyers that invade Pens blogs. Feel free to treat them in the same manner I treated the moron who showed up here.

For better or worse, I expect an continuation of what we saw the last time the two teams met. There's a lot of hatred, which leads to loss of discipline on both sides. Not just in anger and fighting and nonsense, but also in the way the teams play.

Neither goalie will be well supported and we should see lots of goals....of course, having said that, we'll probably get a 2-1 game.

I could talk about your "fans" throwing batteries at players while they walk off the ice, thanks Philly for the protective Pope bubble they wheel out in between periods.

Or did you want to talk about beating someone into a coma after the Flyers Rangers winter classic?

Or maybe a good slice of your owner unloading the #2 goal scorer in the league?

How about booing a woman for dropping the puck, now thats a classy move.

I was just having fun posting a funny picture of Sid, no clue why you and your kind want to always have a fight. It was all in good fun.

Thing is. Jsaq didn't say any of that. Anyways, I expect a score fest without grossmann I don't think well win unless bryzgalov is ok and fleury poops the bed. My prediction is something like 5 3 pens but I hope I'm wrong cause I've travelled a long way to see this game lol

I agree with all of that. I love both VH eras (I ignore the Charone album). They're different but both very good.

Chickenfoot kicks ass, too. Hard to believe that at his age Hagar can still get it done vocally, but he does. He sounds just as good today as he did 30 years ago.

- Scoob

Chicken foot is entertaining, too. I missed them when they came through, but they have a great band and a good sound.

Sammy is a fantastic singer. Despite my affinity for Roth, I prefer Sammy in concert.

The points have to be the primary concern. No question. They have to get 2 points.

I just hope that they do it with a disciplined game and limit mistakes.

I agree, that kid is terrible, and I've told him as much on Pens threads as well. My comments were not directed at you but the general Flyers fan base, and I apologize for the misguided annoyance.

No apology needed. I understand the frustration.

If he was funny, I'd embrace him.

There's a Sabres fan named Ripped Fuel....he's a brilliant troll. I LOVE when he comes around.

The sad thing is both teams are very good, and if they controlled their emotions it would lead to some pretty great hockey. Also sad are the fringe hockey fans (tons here, I'm sure in Philly as well) who think the high scoring nonsense is actually good hockey but with bad goaltending.

If all 3 of the OT losses have been from shootouts, then I wouldn't consider them losses. There were no shootouts for the Flyers streak and games would end in a tie after OT. This streak is amazing no matter how you slice it. I just hope it gets ended soon and by a bad team and the Hawks go out in Rd1.
- phillydentist

There was no regular season OT for the Flyers' streak. It happened in the good old days.

It's entertaining to watch, but it drives me crazy.

The national media sells that stuff too....oh, look how bad the goalies are...when you have guys getting the chances these guys are getting, Patrick Roy would look like a rental goalie

Removing the bitter might make me less of a Flyers fan! I thought that was a requirement.
I will give the Hawks their due. They are doing fantastic this season. But my points are still valid that the records aren't being judged the same which in the real world should invalidate them. So it's hype.

- FlyersGrace

The streaks, both of them, are "lossless" streaks. In this (lame) NHL day, OT/SO losses aren't losses. They are some kind of bastardized tie.

See I barely finding it entertaining, more annoying. I'd much rather watch a 2-1 thriller with tons of chances but great goaltending than a 6-5, whoever scores last wins, shootout.

I like both the Roth and Hagar years. They were different, but both were good. I love the unpolished feel of the Roth era, because they literally went into a studio and just jammed for a week to ten days and released it.

But Eddie worked with a lot of different folks and wanted to get more into the producing end of things, which led to Roth bailing. Hagar was a strong enough personality to be a real partner in the sound of the new music, but banged heads with the new management-he was adamantly against doing a song for the Twister soundtrack and a "Greatest Hits" CD. So he got fired and replaced by their new manager's brother in law.

The newer CD, with Roth, is quite good if you like the Roth era CDs. It's all rock songs, no ballads and has great solos and cheeky lyrics.

- Jsaquella

seriously, Roth hasn't been able to sing for the last 20+ yrs

RIP Alvin Lee (Ten Years After guitarist)

Alvin unexpectedly passed away early this morning after unforeseen complications following a routine surgical procedure - CNN

- BringBack25

would this be an instance of having a press release which states the surgery was unsuccessful?

I'd prefer a good, close game where there's not constant breakdowns, but it's compelling and nerve wracking. After games like the last one, it feels like you've been through the wringer.

It's got to be better for fans of other teams watching, though.
