I first started really attending concerts while living in Rochester. Went to U of R. Saw Jerry Band twice at the War Memorial. Never went to an Amerks game

I spent a LOT of time at U of R as a kid. My father was a professor there (Chemical Engineering) the whole time I lived there (we moved in 1980). My little brother and I treated that campus like it was our personal playground.

I saw a few other shows at the War Memorial, and lots of Amerks games. That was back in the day when Cherry coached and John Wensink was beating people to death and getting arrested.

By my calculations, if you've seen Rush 14 times, you should still be at your 5th Rush concert.
- NickTheKid87

i wish that were true. they're a polarizing band mostly because of geddy's voice - and i get that. for me, one of my top 2 favorites of all time.

oh yeah...

i saw dave matthews band too, forgot about that one.

For all the hippie stuff I've seen, I do regret having never seen Maiden.

they were great. i was surprised at how small bruce Richardinson is. i think he must have been standing on milk crates for group album shots.

laughing that bruce's name is being converted to "richardson".

I feel like you and I have had this discussion before. My memory is hazy though, likely from all of the rock concerts.

I miss Rochester. I was there from '90-'96. The day I left town, Johnny Cash played in Highland Park Bowl for free and fool that I am I did not stay for the show

I miss Monroe ave. There were some cool shops and restaurants down there...

I had a bunch of their albums growing up. Some may not like what they play, but they are all very good musicians. Maybe I'll get to see them one of these days.

I've been to so many jazz, blues and folk festivals that I could never name everyone I've seen. Hell, I'd have to look it up to see who was at Live Aid.

Girls get me to festivals. I wouldn't go unless there was someone I specifically wanted to see. I'd rather see Buddy Guy at an intimate venue then on the water front for a half set at a blues festival. In college I always traveled with a pack of girls because I was an art major at a smaller school and I think I may have had five guys total in any of my core classes over the 4 yrs I was there. They were always dragging me to festivals.

Well, dragging might be a stretch.

are you being punished or something?

First concert for me (remember I'm really old) was Jethro Tull at the War Memorial in Rochester, NY. Same wonderful arena the Amerks played in when none other than Don Cherry himself was their coach.

He was early in the thread, not sure what pages. He wasn't getting the job done as our token Pens poster.
