but one of my first concerts (as a young high schooler) was Debbie Gibson (in my defense she did look good to me in a skirt back then).

At a mall, right? And yes, when I was a youngster I thought she was all right, too.

Since then I've been to a few other shows:
The Grateful Dead (18 times )
Jerry Garcia Band (2x)
Santana (2 or 3 times)
The Allman Brothers (around 7 or 8 times)
Crosby Stills and Nash
Bob Dylan (6 or 7 times)
The Rolling Stones (only once because they gouge you $$$)
B.B. King
Phish (37 times)

Our tastes in music are very different. Bold = the only ones I'd want to see.

Saw the Debster in a college gym. I have wide ranging tastes but I do tend to lean towards "the hippie sh!t"

My wife says my music collection is like getting stuck in a time warp to the early 70s.

So have we done the predictions yet?
Fruit bat and Neal score (duh), Crosby has a five point game, Bryz is pulled in the first, game misconduct and upcoming 5 game suspension for Rinaldo, Pierre McGuire has a seizure, and a Flyer defenseman to be named later is injured.

- Marc D

It's already been covered in the Pens thread:
Scott Hartnell will give a lock of his hair to Adams in the pregame skate so that Adams doesn't try to pull some out later in the game.

Zac Rinaldo will get suspended by jumping into a Pens' players head long after said player has passed the puck. In his hearing, Rinaldo will defend himself by claiming to be "trying to get around a teammate."

Sidney Crosby will put on an awesome display of stick handling and skate through every Flyers player...unfortunately for him, he will be doing it with Voracek's glove, not the puck.

Peter Laviolette will begin yelling at Dan Bylsma. This time, instead of holding him back, Craig Berube will turn green, rip off his shirt, pick the glass partition up out of its fastener's, and throw it at Bylsma. It will miss, and will decapitate Tomas Vokoun. In his post-game press conference, Bylsma will thank Mr. Berube for silencing any goalie controversy.

Matt Cooke, protecting his coach, will use his ninja assassin skills to slice Berube's throat with his skate, making it look like a clean hit.

The Ultimate Warrior will come out of the stands and hit Hartnell from behind with a steel chair.

Giroux will hold a press conference after the game, complaining that Voracek's glove will need surgery because of Crosby's "stickhandling"

Tony Granato is actually tony stark and will come out of nowhere with his iron man suit!

Pronger was hit over the head by Mikhail Grabovski's stick in a game against the Maple Leafs on October 24, 2011. On November 19 of that year, Pronger complained that he was bothered by the lights and crowd noise in Winnipeg.

So true! 2 of my faves were Return to Forever and Johnny Winter, both at the Chestnut. What a great place to see a show!
- BiggE

I saw Johnny Winter there. I also saw Sinead O'Connor there which my have been the best small venue concert I ever saw short of Richard Butler sing at a piano upstairs at a bar and restaurant in West Chester.

Who penned that beauty?

I'm really amazed Pronger was cleared to play after being hit in the eye. My initial reaction when I saw the way he left the ice that night was his career was over. And that was the best case scenario. I thought he had been blinded.

By my calculations, if you've seen Rush 14 times, you should still be at your 5th Rush concert.

From Jan Levine's blog here last night:

The Rangers released the following statement at 6:03 p.m. Wednesday on the status of defenseman Marc Staal:

"Following an injury suffered in (Tuesday) night's game vs. Philadelphia, Marc Staal was examined (Wednesday) in New York by Dr. Mark Fromer, ophthalmologist, and Dr. Mendel Markowitz, maxillofacial surgeon. The injury has improved significantly and both doctors are optimistic that Marc will make a full recovery. Staal will be sidelined indefinitely."

The team did not provide specifics on Staal's injury.

I think doctors are optimistic he will make a full recovery. Out indefinitely is the last report I read.

Of course when it comes to the Rags out indefinitely usually means a guy misses two games.
