Good chance Grossmann is playing tonight.

Yes, Hendrix is unreal. Self taught on a right handed guitar. Guy couldn't read a note of music. The night Hendrix died, Clapton went to see him to deliver a left handed strat, which he never got to do.

Clapton after hearing Hendrix for the first time in a London club, cried on his cab right back to his flat, because he knew he would never be able to play as good as Hendrix did. In interviews now when Clapton is asked a question about Jimi, he won't answer it because it gets him too upset.

there's certainly enuf guys who made careers out of a hendrix-style like SRV and trower. then johnny mac and van halen influenced guys. johnny mac is my fave, but that's jazz fusion which has a limited audience. every great guitar player knows who he is, though.

edit: jack bruce played with john, i forgot

(frank).. that explains nearly everything.

Hey I was like 8 and we had club box seats at the FU Center (think that's what it was at the time). My cousin and I played with glow sticks until they played Mmm Bop because that was the only song we knew.

SVR another legend gone way too early. Only can imagine what he would have done. He's been dead like 20+ years already.

that guy seemed like he would play for free. it might have been clapton who told of SRV always asking guys if they wanted to jam. lived, breathed and slept the music. a damn shame.

Anyone see that fight in the TOR/OTT game last night? That was frightening, guy from Ottawa was in rough shape. No one likes a good tilt as much as me, but I hate seeing incidents like that.

That was tough to watch, reminded me of Fedoruk getting one punched by Colton Orr back in the day

The player for Ottawa should have been taken out on a stretcher. Was really dumb that he wasn't.

I looked at his name and immediately came up a nickname for him...

Dave "Dizzy" Dziurzynski

EVH is a wonderful guitarist. Fantastically talented. Different style than Clapton. Clapton's roots are from Jazz/Blues Muddy Watters, BB King, Robert Johnson, Robert Cray are some of Clapton's idols.

No one has ever referred to Eddie as Slowhand...

- PLindbergh31

Love me some Robert Cray. Strong Persuader is an excellent cd.

"Bad Influence", on Clapton's August cd, is a Cray cover.
