So, Boston put Chris Borque . Who picks him up?
- steponmytoe

Not the Rangers, would put the team at the 5o contract limit.

“I don’t know what’s appropriate,” Brad Richards said, with an edge. “I just hope that someone doesn’t have to have a broken neck and get carried off on a stretcher for that to sink in that it’s just a crazy play. We learn that in Pee Wee: If you see somebody’s number, you just don’t do that. Hopefully something worse doesn’t have to happen where we have to make a point on that.”

just saw that, absolutely brutal. as a person, how could you live with yourself after doing that to another player during a game?

Can't decide on which smirk gets me more annoyed, Kaleta's or Pacioretty's.

That type of hit is the most dangerous play in hockey. It is even worse than the blindside headshots, and its needs to be eliminated from the game. The unfortunate thing about the Richards hit is how much time we spent on the stupid, neanderthal conversation about whether he was embellishing or not. The suspensions on those type of hits should be stiff, and maybe players will be deterred.

I can go with that, especially after he almost died cause Chara ran him hard in the boards. But it's hard me to pick against Kaleta.

Richards should have waited around for the media and called Keleta a "Piece of poop" a few times. Would have given his position more credibility.

I'm from that bad streets of Stamford. We're nothing like those New Canaan and Darien kids. It is amazing how towns that border each other can be so different.

What I don't get is how the suspensions for a repeat offender escalate so little. Kaleta was suspended for two games in 2009 for boarding. In 2011 he was suspended for head-butting four games. Now he gets five for the last hit. That's not progression on the punishment scale. Is that going to prevent him from repeating what he did. We've all seen the quotes, did he sound remorseful at all for the play. Did he sound like he was going to make a concerted effort to not do that again? To me he thinks what he did wasn't illegal and he likely won't be incentivized to not do it again. That's why a longer ban was needed just to show that the league seriously wants those plays out of the game.
