Because. a) Haley was already up and b) how what Hamrlik did years ago impacts now is somewhat beyond me and those who live in glass houses shouldn't thrown stones as to player moves. Hamrlik was scratched mainly because he shoots from the left, Wash already has several D-men like that and Oates doesn;t like playing players on the off side unless they shoot that way.

At least we don't have to trade for a player that will never suit up for us just to make sure we reach the salary cap floor. That's not helping your team. Granted, they won't have to give up anything to stay in compliance but still, make moves that will at least have a chance to help your club.

I sincerely hope the Islanders' finances get fixed. If that means new ownership then great. Rivalry is much better when the Islanders are strong.
