But on the plus side he did bag a goat, a bear , a mountain sheep , and enough wild birds to feed the state of Minny at Thanksgiving

Yup, you're pretty spot on.
- Nucker101

Not that you'd want to,
But I'm sure Buffalo would also take Bieksa &/or Hamhuis off your hands...
They each have a cap hit over 4mil if I'm not mistaken
I think also moving one of them might be the extra move you have to make to ensure u guys have some decent depth
I'm assuming you won't trade the Twins, Kesler, Edler or Burrows...

The key as I see it, will be to trade all these 4-5mil guys,
For decent players in the 2.5mil range
Maybe u have to include a pick or prospect in some of these possible deals to make that happen,
But it seems to me to be your best option at this point

In terms of individual careers I would say it is. But at the time Naslund was playing on the 4th line and had even been a healthy scratch a few times, the Penguins needed to bring in some toughness so Stoijanov made sense. It was basically 4th liner for 4th liner at the time, but then Naslund went all superstar and the last I heard was Stoijanov was playing semi-pro in New Mexico.

They won't trade either.

Hamhuis is the Canucks best defensive D, and other than Bieksa, they only have one other D (Tanev) who's effective on the right side. And Bieksa's physical play is too valuable.

No way either are moved. Way too valuable.

And I wouldn't see them having to add a pick, either. Teams would be lining up to take either Hamhuis or Bieksa, especially with their contracts.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the early struggles, but a week of success doesn't mean he's outplayed Schneider. And to say their career trajectories are the same is pretty ridiculous.

Schneider > Holtby

- Fosco

Holtby was great at the end of last year and Playoffs.... I wouldn't say Schnieder has proven he is better yet....

So one good playoffs makes Holtby better? Schneider also had a great (albeit short) playoffs.

Throughout their careers at every level, I would, not even close.

I don't think you'll find too many people who would claim Holtby is better than Schneider.

Again all i said it wasn't proven at the NHL level. And Both haven't played enough to prove that. The AHL is littered with guys that had great minor league numbers.

On any other team in the league Corey would have been a starter years ago probably after his run with the Moose. Can't say the same about Holtby.

Agreed.

It's pretty comical how he's getting devalued after a few less than stellar games in a cluster-(frank) of a goaltending situation.
