You'd be wrong.

Holtby ended up being my worst fantasy pick this season

That other trade you suggest isn't bad, though. Leaves the Canucks in bad shape on the blue line, without Edler, but Backstrom would be a godsend.

You thinking Ballard has value loses all your credibility. If he did have value he would have been moved by now. No one wants him not even the Canucks. He is soft and is turnover prone. Say what you want about Komi but at least he is a tough guy and he was once good. He could easily be a bottom pairing guy with the canucks and add toughness.
- Bluechip23

Where did I say that he had trade value? Point it out to me please, all I said is that he has the ability to be a top 5 d-man who plays every game if he were on the Leafs roster. He's still overpaid in that role.

I honestly thought that he, Bure and Mogliny could have been really good together. Except that Messier seemingly had no desire to play in Vancouver unless he could be the captain and wear #11.

We as Penguin fans can do nothing but facepalm at that.

Although Naslund was playing on the 4th line and the Penguins needed toughness, but that trade is about as damn near one sided as they get.

...guy had 2 shut-outs last week, and 4-1 win and one blow-out loss. The start of the season he wasn't great, but that was the team more than him.

Caps have won 7 of 10, and look to be on a solid path into the playoffs if they keep up their play (homer feelings ofcourse).

Holtby will be central to this.

What happened to Booth? Did he go full Penner? Or just having a hard time coming back from injury?
- Morris

He's definitely putting in the effort, but doesn't have a lot of chemistry with Edler plus zero PP time so he's not going to be worth his contract in this current situation. He was still on pace for 20 goals last year and he's obviously a little rusty right now but he's looking somewhat better the last couple of games with Kassian. Not as bad of a contract as Ballard's or Penner when he was making 4+.

Ballard may not be big, but he is anything but soft. What is soft is your argument, I think you should change your team.

Do you guys remember Shawn Antoski? He wasn't with the Canucks long, and I can't find the video of the fight but it was against LA. There are a few on You Tube, mostly loses, but he was a big, dumb, tough SOB. I remember seeing him out at the Shark Club in Vancouver after game 4 of the SCF in '94, he didn't make the trip to NY the next morning...

And Bure was injured 13 games into the season by Steve Smith I think.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the early struggles, but a week of success doesn't mean he's outplayed Schneider. And to say their career trajectories are the same is pretty ridiculous.

Was that the first ACL tear? It was against the Hawks I believe which could have been Steve Smith.

Yeah, pretty sure that was it.

EDIT

From Wiki

Early in the season, Bure sustained the first of what were to be several serious knee injuries during his career. On November 9, 1995, in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Bure was grabbed around the head by defenceman Steve Smith while approaching the end boards. Falling to the ice, he caught his skate against the boards, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.[69] Requiring arthroscopic surgery, in which tendon was removed from his hamstring to repair the ACL, he was sidelined for the remainder of the season.[70][71] Without Bure, the Canucks managed to make the 1996 playoffs on the strength of an offence led by Linden and Mogilny, but were defeated in six games of the opening round by the Colorado Avalanche, who went on to win the Stanley Cup.

Yup. I remember him. 1st round pick

Just went to his wikipedia page, and his most famous incident is climbing into the opponent's penalty box after a fight in the AHL, and continuing to beat the guy up

That helps,
But that still leaves u 14mil to sign 7 guys...
And you've Still gotta replace 3 of your top7 forwards in Higgins, Booth & Raymond...
Gonna be tough to find cheap options

You'd know better than me the situation u guys are in,
But from the outside,
It looks like your GM is gonna have to get pretty creative to put some depth behind all your top guys
