Teams that can trade out players they don't want and don't use for three players that they truly need must have a horseshoe up their ass. I wouldn't be surprised if that version of the LuckyNucks won the NBA championship by fluke

Nystrom is a plug. Morrow can barely skate and his numbers are inflated playing with benn and jagr. Robidas is probably worth a late first, but I'd rather have booth and Ballard than a late 1st.

Yeah, it's not that bad of a trade for Dallas. People don't realize how much Morrow has declined, he's a good 3rd liner now IMO. Robidas is basically a rental, but a much needed top 4 RHD. Booth gives Dallas yet another big forward with speed and would look good playing with Roy. Ballard could re-establish himself as a second pairing d-man under a new coach away from the spotlight. Nystrom is a decent 4th liner.

Agreed, even watching MG on after hours last week and he said that you don't just give an all-star goalie away....Luongo's the one of the two that's been an all-star before so that tells me that he's only looking to deal him.

I've said all along it won't be much more than a 3rd liner, a decent non bluechip prospect and maybe a pick on top. And the other team would push to add some salary in return if the 3rd liner is cheap.

If anything we need him back to make Kesler a legit top 6 offensive center. Raymond/Kesler/Samuelsson was the only time he's looked like one without Burrows.

I would bet that Ballard for a 3rd is going to happen. What is sad about this is he will probably go to a contender and become a major contributor to his new team in the playoffs they will win a cup and Ballard is gonna be laughing and saying suck it AV and sorry MG I tried to tell you I like it here but your coach is a problem. MG is like the parent that just won't see his kids faults and keeps throwing money at him to work with and the kid just keeps wasting it going don't worry Dad I'll get it right this time. You could make a case for Kostka and Fraser. But a tough guy like fraser is an asset vs a soft guy like Ballard.

Based on Ballards 4.5 mil Salary I wouldnt trade any of the guys above for him 1 for 1 let alone a pick. MG would have to add a pick plus Ballard for nothing for someone to take him and that useless contract.

I would prefer to re-sign him at this point, he looks like he's regained his confidence and 20 goal form. He'd probably have quite a few teams interested in him as a UFA, it's a pretty weak class.

First of all, Ballard is far from spot. That statement right there makes you lose a lot of credibility. Ballard would definitely be top 5, likely the 4th guy on the depth chart but I'm not too familiar with what sides the Leafs defencemen play.
