Isn't that pretty much the whole Sabres team?

Except for Cody.

Sure! Why the hell not? We already have 4 left-handed d-man making over 4 million dollars, let's add another one!
- Nucker101

Yeah. Don't really understand that move. If he was a righty, that would be a different story.

You Guys could really use Him. Never should have let him Go. Plays Hard and can chip a few in the net. Class Act.

Answer: a new coaching staff.

Play these guys where they should be played AND THEN go fill the holes.

- DrChristianTroy

Didn't think it would take so long for someone to mention AV. Agreed.

I'd like to see them go after Clarkson in New Jersey.
- vancity787

Agreed. Also, clowe, morrow, possibly Kennedy from pit, Matt Cullen from min. Trading within division is frowned upon but could be good.

Agreed. The reason they got Ott is the same reason the Canucks would want him. They would have to overpay for sure.

I think the reason that quite a few Canucks fans are looking at Schneider as the better trading option at this point is because of the return he could yield. Lu's contract length is brutal - is obviously a major issue right now (despite what Gillis says through the media). Van needs depth/grit pretty badly.

- Canuckleafer

Pretty much agree with this. Ott is not not getting traded unles someone offers something ridiculous. Some fans want Schneider gone because of the difference in trade value, but I think MG has his mind set on moving Luongo. Even Bob McKenzie has said it this season that Schneider has never been available since the LA playoff series.

A first line pp net presence with the sedins. Shouldn't be keslers job. One more right hand d man. Hamonic? A third or fourth liner winger who has cup experience

Plus, realistically, what are you going to get for a goalie? We aint getting no three first round picks for him...

I can't see them trading Clarkson. Especially if they are still in the playoff hunt.

Who could help?

- IanEsplen

I find your Washington trade to be lopsided in your favour for starters. Further, It's not a move that can be justified as building for the future, as they're trading out Johansson.

I find you're probably overpaying Buffalo for Reghr. He's good, but he's caught in a numbers game. Buffalo actually wants to move dmen. I'd bet you could trade Connauton for him straight up.

What are your Smid and Jones pitches?

Because Vancouver needs to find a D who will clear the front of the net and that is tough to play against.

If I was Gillis I'd target centres and physical D

Jones, not really sure but likely a mid range type prospect.

Smid, Ballard or Booth, 2nd and Rodin, with the 2nd becoming a 1st if he is re-signed.

My opinion is still that we should go after Vermette & Torres from Phoenix. Move Luongo somewhere for draft picks to accommodate the salary. Or perhaps even a 3-way trade like:

To TBL: Luongo (Purcell & Lindback for Luongo)
To PHX: Purcell, Higgins (Vermette & Torres for Purcell & Higgins)
To VAN: Vermette, Torres, Lindback (Luongo & Higgins for Vermette, Torres & Lindback)

To me that's fair all the way around... Works for all teams involved.

Needs to be able to play the right side, though.

I only looked to see Regehr's handedness, which is left. Not sure if he can play both sides or not, but he's useless to the Canucks if he can't play the right side.

edit: would love to get Emelin out of MTL. Not sure what their needs are, but I doubt they're too eager to trade him.

Rather keep Purcell, if the Canucks were able to get him. Would be nice to get Torres back, though.

I'm not sure the Yotes deal players who have them in a playoff race. I'm also not sure if they can move salary out and be above the floor.

In my scenario Kesler's playing RW... I'd rather have Kesler & Kassian on RW and Raymond & Booth on LW than Purcell anywhere in the mix. I hate that pu$$y.

Give Reggie a shot over there and if not you have Tanev, Bieksa and Garrison on the right side.

Hell, maybe Corrado comes in and steps up. Every year there is always a kid or two like that.

Hmmm.... both of these guys could very likely see themselves packing their bags if we don't re-sign them by the trade deadline.

I might shoot myself if we did though.

We might to find a trading partner who isn't so definitely in the playoffs. GMs with delusions of grandeur make for better bedfellows.
