360 is easier to use for sharing. It used windows media sharing.

place your files in your libraries on your cpu and voila .. it's done.

The latest box is silent.. doesn't red ring and has wireless and hdmi built in.

you can get a package for 200$ that includes the kinect but only 4gb drives ( that can easily be changed in like 5 mins to whatever size HD you decide to put in)

I mostly use the PS3 as a Blue ray player and the xbox for games and netflicks, and other movie rentals.

I don't share between the two becuase all 3 are in the same room connected to the same TV, but i fooled around with it a bit, and it seems to support multiple sharing programs, Zune, WMP as the basics.
I tried out Tvversity once but can't remember if it was with the ps3 or xbox.

Both are fine machines at this point.
