I have a new policy not to post during the games this yr as for fear of jinxing it. So- yeah, I will continue with that.

Oh I'm sure Cloutier will post a blog about it soon. It must be so frustrating for him to be wrong about everything all the time. He was relentless before the season about how good the Oilers would be and how bad the Flames would be.

Playing teams comming off back to back that are stranded at airport hours before game with less then 24 rest doesnt happen usually. Oh, actually it does, twice in a row.

Call me selfish, I don't want to cheer for a bottom feeder the next 3-5 yrs. Sorry, it is not entertaining to cheer for forced failure. Now if they tried their best, and hit rock bottom anyways? So be it, at least they didn't throw in the towel.

Ppl forget the ticker in the mid to late 90's in the paper, about hitting the 12 or 14k season ticket level, else the team moves. Dark days. Every goalie between Vernon and Kipper? bad times.

If they were going to trade, they passed the line of great return 2 yrs ago. At this pt, they both deserve to retire Flames, and Feaster is at least trying to keep them entertaining. Have the Oilers become interesting yet?

I agree 100%...but if the Flames dont look like theyre getting an invite to the dance, they will need to consider selling their tie and dress pants to someone who is. The team is roughly at a good point where they still have vets who can help mold the young guys and stay competitive by doing so.

And the only reason I say they will "need" to, is because (even if) Iginla sticks around for another 2-3 years, his play will certainly decline and his value to the team will as well. The team isnt 2-3 years removed from being strong contenders, so you might as well move them for players who can strongly contribute in a few years when the team will likely be in better shape overall.

The Oilers sucked before, added youth to their suckage and continued to suck. They never really addressed fixing the suckage around the young stars and its clearly not working in their favour.
