How's Marty Brodeur doing?
How's Johan Hedberg doing?
Old and falling apart....much like I said.
Opinions vary on Roy. I think we are better without him.
Scott has come in and filled the role he was brought in for very very well.
So I would answer yes to both. - BuffaloHardHat
when brodeur is in net he is good and the team plays better
hedberg has lost his confidence
both will get better and turn things around
while Roy and Ott are different types of players and Ott is effective at what he does the results are the same if not worse as a team....when you improve in personel you'd expect better results

The problems with this team were deeper than Roy. Getting rid of just him was not enough. Moving on from ruff and hopefully Darcy should help.this team needs a captain and a some defensive help |

Ill take Ott and his 11 points and 109 hits over Roy and his 14 points and 8 hits. |

What I know is that he was one of those good middle cost players that teams need to have to be successful...we are going to have a ton of cap space after this season (around $20 mil) - the fix for this team is not 2 high priced guys - the fix is for a new GM to come in and sign 4-6 players that can be blended in with what we have
The GM also needs to trade or cut bait with these frince NHL prospects we hang on to for too long - someone has to have the balls to say... "McNabb (whomever you want to add) is not going to be a signifigant player - I need to package him with some of my garbage (Stafford) and trade for a decent part + the cap benefits that come with clearing the dead weight - JustOneCupPlease
That would be nice to see.
We need to get rid of Stafford, if we package him with a D prospect we could get something meaningful in return, not to mention the cap space involved. Believe it or not he still has value.
We should trade away one of Vanek/Miller/Pominville. I say we trade Pominville. Part of it is that he has decent value to other teams because he is a consistent scorer, good defensively and on the PK. Also he is our leader now, and we need a new Captain. I want it to be Ott, which would be hard to pull off if Pominville was still here.
We need to lock up Hodgson. I don't care if he wants a long term deal, I would do it for around 5 million, not much more. I really think he is developing into a great player, and he has the work ethic that many on this team lack. Maybe we can get him to do something like a 4-year deal rather than max length. I don't want him on a bridge contract.

You hope.
I don't think so.
Over 40 (and I can vouch for this) back problems do not get better especially with the position Brodeur plays.
Hedberg is almost as bad as Enroth.
You can argue the ifs buts and maybes all you want.
I said goaltending was going to be an issue for your Devils this year and it sure looks like what I said is true. Not to mention I said they would be hurting scoring wise replacing Parise's production. They are 12th in the conference in scoring with 56 goals and only 4 more goals away from being last in the conference.
Appears to me I was pretty accurate.
I don't see it getting any better or either one "turning it around". |

It really is a stupid argument since both guys play totally different roles and both have filled those roles for their new teams. It's the old "Great Hockey Trade" scenario. |

I good news, were only 2 points from the bottom with the lower teams having games at hand. Its amazing how 2 games ago we were talking about 8th. |

I've seen rumors on the Hockey news website of Buffalo possibly looking to trade Miller, and looking at another deal with LA to get Bernier to replace him...
Makes sense...

Hahaha...
I only posted it bc it actually makes sense
Re-signing Miller after next year to a long term, big $$$ deal doesn't really make sense for him or us....
As much as I hate to say it, Miller deserves a chance to move on to a team w a legit chance to win the cup while he still has a couple of years left in his "prime"
We could probably get a TON in return for him,
And I think missing the playoffs again this year is the wake-up call the organization needs to realize that a re-build is necessary
As far as Bernier goes... LA should prob look to move him sooner than later for a couple reasons... Obviously they can get help right away to strengthen their depth to make another run... And the last thing they need is to hang on to Bernier too long and possibly create a situation like they have in Vancouver |

I am lukewarm on Bernier.
How many NHL games does he have in totality?
Just don't think there is enough evidence to justify trading a valuable piece out of Buffalo for a goalie that may be good?
I guess it would depend on what or who we are giving up to acquire Bernier and who we would be getting for Miller in the other deal.
Makarov is 2 years away I think and then it looks like we will be set in goal for quite some time again with him. |

I would like to see Miller in Tampa. That team with Miller wins a Cup in my opinion. |
