Yup .This team needs big changes but lets wait until the offseason so we can get a high drft pick. - VANTEL
Wouldn't matter if they had the top pick. They would screw it up. Probably pick an American kid from high school that was a 13th forward or 7th defence man on his team |

Edlers a number 3 d-man now? Hamhuis, too eh? I would rank them both in the top 30 in the NHL. CHI has two of the best D-men in the league, and if both were signed to new contracts this year lime Edler, they would demand 6 million plus each. Boston, outside of Chara, I would take Edler and Hamhuis over any others and again Chara is paid way more money. Nashville, the same with Boston with Weber instead of Chara. WPG? Their defense sucks outside of Buff and Bogosian and I don't consider those 2 better all-around d-men than Hamhuis or Edler. Phoenix, outside of Ekman-Larsson, I would take Edler and Hamhuis by a tad over Yandle. LA, outside of Doughty, I would take those over anyone again. And again, Doughty gets paid 7 million. - Nucker101
But you think everything is always sunshine and roses with the Canucks and I always think the opposite. The recent slide and the early exit from last years playoffs show me ,that I am more correct. We are lucky we play in a sh!t division. |

Btw we are going have a really tough time to win a cup this year if we play like this... - RF_4eva
Relax. I'm just harassing you.
Every team has a tough time winning the Cup. It's a tough thing to do. |

Quite a few, including depth players and players that are considered to be struggling(Doughty for example) that have really strong advanced stats. Hell, just read some of Yost's blogs if you need convincing. They aren't always right, but they're more accurate than the doubters think. - Nucker101
I find alot of that bollocks tbh. It has like Vancouver (no offense) in 3rd and Anaheim in like 25th or something. I don't understand how they come to those assumptions.
P.S. I didn't mean offense like scoring goals, i mean it like i'm not trolling. |

Where do you see this team finishing in the standings? Just curious. - Nucker101
Well seeing this division sucks they could end 3 in position .
If Minny or Edm ever decide to win a game we will finish 12 th |

So your example for the general accuracy of advanced stats is using an underperforming large cap hit player from a team that's not living up to its potential... Okay... |

Nope, I just try to be realistic but I guess I come off as the optimist since the players always being criticized or that people want traded, are good players that this team would be much worse without. Again, I can be convinced when someone provides a valid argument, ask Booner, Fosco or DCT. Again, I never said that this team is SCF contender and the Canucks are in great position, it seems like you think that when all I'm really saying is that Edler has been overcriticized and is crucial to this team. |

San Jose had 5 forwards without a goal this year, going into the game.
2 down , 3 to go. |

Nucker and I have been disagreeing for two years now but he is a cool dude and same with Fosc - VANTEL
You too, bud.
We may disagree on Eder, but I think we're on the same page about many other things.
Definite personnel changes are needed, including behind the bench. |

The way Booth has been playing, he'd have a few goals if he wasn't stuck out there with Lapierre. Such different styles... (frank) I hate AV. |

That was based on shooting %'s among other things that very few people even udnerstand(that formula is just cray cray ), Anaheim has gotten pretty lucky so far and is due for a letdown, same with Toronto. We'll see what happens though, if both those teams keep it up then obviously Fenwick loses some credibility. |

There's more(better) examples but that was an obvious one that I can remember without checking any sites since he's been criticized this year for poor play but in reality his on-ice shooting %'s are lower than career normals and will normalize and he's also playing harder minutes(higher QOC and less offesnive zone starts) but still doing good, puck possession-wise. |

I do, yes.
I think overall, he's been the most effective D other than Hamhuis, who I also believe is also worth 5 million, if he were to sign a contract this year.
