I wonder whos going to be on there way out at the trade deadline. This team needs a serious shake-up. Edlers got a no trade clause starting next year. If we move him, It needs to be now. Package him up with one of our goalies and make a splash.

I'd much rather move out Ballard and acquire a decent RHD to round out this defense, preferably a top 4 RHD since I'd prefer Tanev on the third pairing with Garrison.

AV should be just as pissed at MG, as he should be with him IMO...if that made sense(been up since 7 AM ). MG hasn't spent his cap dollars wisely compared to teams like Boston and Chicago. Not to mention that AV hasn't had Kesler for basically the whole season either. I think a lot of realistic Canucks fans were expecting this team to be less dominant this year and to struggle at times, especially without Kesler and Malhotra which leaves the center position really thin, not to mention that Bieksa is the only proven top 4 RHD.

Wrong. It's AV's job to use what Gillis gives him to its highest potential. Instead, AV continually forces square pegs into round holes and blames the pegs. Gillis' refusal to fire this idiot is making him look incompetent.

Outside of not treating young players fairly, some weird line combos and mistreating Ballard, he hasn't done a bad job considering what he's had to work with this season. The defence Gillis has built is just not good management, how can AV possibly keep everyone happy when he has 4 guys making 4 million plus that can only play the left side effectively. The center depth right now is just pathetic as well and you have to give some props to AV for moving Raymond at center when we all laughed at him and yet Raymond has looked solid besides the fact that he sucks at faceoffs. I do agree that he needs to move JS up and never scratch Ballard for Barker again. I'm definitely not a AV fan, but MG deserves just as much blame is all I'm saying. Know one outside of the organization really knows what happened with Hodgson situation, but if that was on AV then it was a huge mistake to trade away the team's best young player just to accommodate the coach.

Agreed. Gillis has made some questionable moves, but AV is definitely making many of them look even worse.

First, not using Ballard properly after Gillis acquired him; then not using Hodgson, Gillis first and best draft pick properly; not using Kassian in a position he can excel in, after AV forced Gillis's hand in making the trade for him...

Schroeder and Garrison are also being mis-used. Not to mention all of the other lineup decisions...

It's fair to question Gillis in many of these instances, but the fact remains that if AV was doing his job, the outcomes could have still been positive, or at least better than they've been so far.
