They are 3 points ahead of 11 th place Minny. It is not that big of a stab - VANTEL
Yeah, but they're playing some bad hockey right now. I have to think that this team is capable of playing better and will do so, all teams have their good and bad streaks unless you're the (frank)ing Blackhawks. |

Once the Canucks get the PP going they'll be ok, they always have a good PP traditionally. And its not like there not throwing the puck around like crazy. There playing well and scoring 5 on 5. If there PP gets going watch out, they've been dominating the last few games 5 on 5, thats the sign of a team has potential. Who cares about the Calgary game we all know Vancouver was the better team and would've won that game 9 of 10 times if not for luck conspiring against them. They've traditionally had superior special teams, now there 5 on 5 play is above average. They are controlling the play, lets no overreact. As AV says look at the process. The Sedins are just starting to hit there post lockout stride. If this team gets hot down the stretch and is an underdog, is that such a bad thing? Lets be honest, Chicago is the favorite this year. The Canucks and there fans should embrace the underdog role. It didnt hurt the Kings.. - gunner2233
Canucks PP went when Ehrhoff signed in Buf . This team has struggled on the PP for a year and a half. Other teams pull out their lawnchairs and read a magazine and have a coffee and wait for the drop pass and then go out and stop it. |

They have been playing bad hockey for almost a full year now. They stopped right after that Boston game. This team has so many issues and holes . |

Didn't say they wouldn't. If they were in a different division, I wouldn't be very confident. As for the other guy, last time I checked shoot out points count towards making the playoffs, so not sure why you're telling me there aren't shootouts in the playoffs. - hertzman
True, but I'd still bet good money that this team makes the playoffs in any division in hockey, maybe as a low 7/8 seed in a division like the Central but thankfully they aren't in a good division. Call me crazy but I don't see Minny finishing higher than the Canucks. |

All this talk about the division the Canucks play in and not making the playoffs in another Division. Ok lets look at it. I think if the Canucks played in the Pacific division they would win that division too. Theyve spit series with the Kings the last few years, they dominated SJ, split slight edge probably against Pheonix and split maybe a bit better against Dallas head to head.
The fact is, the Cancuks dont usually lose a season series to any team in teh Western Conference, at worst on average, the spit a series 2-2, at least in the last few years. Thats including the Blackhawks, Blues and Redwings. |

That and the back pass in the neutral zone has become extremely redundant, others teams have begun to capitalize on this tactic and yet we fail to adapt. |

It might be bad hockey by our standards, but they're still a playoff team. |

I'd take LA over the Canucks, but I agree that they'd still be in the division race and would make the playoffs for sure. It doesn't matter until next year anyways fellas. |

I don't know if that is true .
Stop and think for a second . Our best line is Hansen Higgins and Raymond .
Our Best Dman is Tanev.
Our best goalie is ------- I am not sure

I do and did want him gone but it doesn't change the fact that our PP sucks since he left.
Is it that hard to find a Weber Chara or Karlsson? Get one it MG |

Thanks to the poor division in which the Canucks reside we are, unfortunately, a playoff team.
A first round exit team to be precise which is bad news in regards to the future. |

Yeah it would be a tight race between LA and Van in the Pacific I think. Canucks would be a 3,4,5 seed in the Pacific, where as in the NW there a lock for 3rd. If you think, the Canucks are in a group with the Kings, Ana, STL, Det, Nash, maybe Dallas and better then Nashville and Dallas, the rest of the Conference are a cut bellow, and the Hawks are a cut above the group this year. |

MG should have replaced him if he wasn't going to meet his contract demands. Especially this past summer once he let Salo walk too, I just don't understand how he thought it would be smart to have 4 LHD's making 4 million plus dollars per year combined with his 9 million plus locked up between the pipes. You guys can blame AV all you want, and he does deserve a fair share of the blame but MG really (frank)ed him over as well. |

Yes, unfortunately it's very hard.
Weber's had a worse season than Edler, though. Just saying. |

Our best line Sedin-Sedin-Burrows. That's our second best line right now. Disagree on Tanev, but I won't get into the reasons for that. Any reasonable hockey fan would tell you that this is a playoff team, but that doesn't mean that they're a complete team or a contender or a well built/managed/coached team. I do agree that there are multiple problems and holes to be fixed and filled. |

Agreed. I was ok with the Garrison signing (always thought he payed a bit too much, though) because I was under the impression that Garrison was comfortable playing the right side at even strength.
Doesn't make a lot of sense now.
If they can find a solid, affordable RHD for the bottom pairing, and spread out the ice time, I'd be ok with running with;
Edler - Tanev
Hamhuis - Bieksa
Garrison - trade |
