Okay here are the Canucks plans.
Get rid of the French coach.
Trade Kessler for anything not always injuried.
Trade Higgins and booth for there identicals but in the form of Canadians.
Scour the world for at least one more Hansen.
Ballard for a new washing machine.

- manvanfan

I know this has to be mostly in jest, but what do you have against Americans? Seriously?

Higgins has been great. And despite his recent issues, Kesler is a very valuable part of the team. And besides, his trade value is at an all time low right now.

One of them is the Canucks, and they've been getting worse since they started taking them seriously. Gillis relies on UFA's begging to come here, prospects falling to our pick in the draft, and Burke/Nonis players wanting to stay here... Otherwise, his method of evaluating talent is shiite.
- DrChristianTroy

That's true to an extent but he also clearly values the opinions of his scouts and AV or else a Cam Barker suggestion would be laughed at by Gillis if brought up to him by a scout. And the moneyball/advanced stats approach actually recommends spending a low amount of money on goaltending, again he's way off there. And something that can't be measured by stats is having too many left handed d-men, including 4 of them making over 4 million dollars on one roster.

Lol nothing against Americans. Higgins has been good but needs to be more consistent. Booth just hasn't produced. Not worth the money. I like Kesler a lot. Solid all around player. AV just doesn't understand when to give the guy a bit of a rest. He's no good to the team if he is always injuried. Ballard this just isn't the place for him. He needs top 4 minutes. Just wont get them here.

Honestly. It's difficult to convince somebody about advanced stats if they're already dead set against them.

Many of them are just secondary stats anyway.

Took me a while to warm up to them, too, until I got so curious about them I read through Behindthenet.com, and a few other sites.

Agree about AV.

Just thought I saw you make another comment earlier about Canadian/American players, so I thought I'd ask...

Yeah for sure, but I was just trying to make a point about MG not actually being a 100% moneyball/advanced stats guy. Reading Yost's blogs actually got me into it.

Yeah, it was an argument with Yost that actually made me do a bit of research about them.

That was a brilliant give & go by Kassian.

He even gave the look-off... Impressed...

Now if only he'd start banging/crashing & acting like he does after a fight, but all the time.

Nice burst and shot by Booth too, those two have a little chemsitry.

I full expect AV to split them up next game.

AV will convince MG to trade assets for a Pahlsson-type centre at the deadline because he's not comfortable with Schroeder...

When it doesn't result in a SH breakaway, which happens far too often in that formation.

True, at least Schroeder's a smart player and has some speed though. I wasn't a fan of Samuelsson back there back in the good old days.
