Big winger, mid range forward prospect, 1st, and 4th.

So no.

- dadeadhead

So then I'm guessing he would rather Foligno over Ennis?

Plenty happy. But Shero has a salary structure to maintain and when it comes down to Malkin or Letang, well, sorry Kris. The strength of the Pens organization are defense prospects, which makes replacing a d man that much easier.

I'm not looking for the Pens to actively shop Letang, but I'm not paying him 7M/yr either.

I understand your deep D prospects, however, your D has been a mess this year, and last year to be honest.

Truthfully I'm probably not looking to the Sabres for a deal.

Pominville will be 32 to start his next contract and will be in the 6 mil range.

Perry will be 28 on his next deal and in the 7.5 range.

1yr of Pommer at 5.3 followed by 8yrs of Pommer at 6mil or 7yrs of Perry at 7.5?

IMO it's a no brainer.

- dadeadhead

IF it was just Pominville for Perry...
And IF Perry was signed...
Sure!
But like we've both stated,
Perry is going to test Free Agency...
So trading Pominville for him would be dumb
And I sure as hell am not adding in a top10 pick

They're probably hoping those prospects can fix their current nhl D problem next year and the year after. I can't imagine guys like Harrington and Morrow are too far away.

Not even in the ball park. Ennis has no value on Pittsburgh Crosby/Malkin/Sutter already play center.

this....perry is in his prime, pommer is likely on the decline. perry's "top end" is WAAAYYYY higher then pommer's "top end'

perry is also a very good 2-way player, kills penalties, and draws penalties (because most players think he's an ass on the ice)

Being close to playing full time and being close to making a major impact are two entirely different discussions.

Pominville is just fine playing both ends of the ice, and he is very good on both special teams.

He is a complete player. Is he Perry? No.
Is he still damn good? Yes.

Paul Martin's return to quality play changes the entire dynamic of the defense depth.

That guy totally misrepresented what I said too...
I said,
"if perry wont extend with the ducks, why would he sign here and pass up free agency? Wouldnt make sense... pominville + for a rental? F that!"

While I agree that it would take something like Pominville and a 1st to get him,
There's no way I'd make that deal

- jdfitz77

actually, you're EXACT WORDS were

Btw, Pominville out scored Perry last year.... IF Perry was signed I'd consider Pommer for him straight up...

i didn't misrepresent what you said.

The people saying they should buy him out to make room for either Iginla or Perry are insane.

Scoring is not your teams problem, as I am sure you well know.

Defense, however, is a major issue.

Major is such a strong categorization. No teams with major problems can find themselves 2nd overall in the conference.

The Penguins gave up 6 goals on Saturday night, I'm not exactly putting that at the doorstep of the d men.

have you seen our D this year.....our premier blueliner this season is Methot (you're not allowed to look on our IR, lol)

The Sens are quickly becoming my #2 team. Their ability to persevere with these ridiculous injuries is incredible.
