Do you know what boarding is?
- Dwight K. Schrute

Yes and he was called for it...he wasn't 5 feet from the boards AND Ennis "did something to contribute to the hit"...in other words he turned at the last second. If you look at Shanahan's explanation of the Kaleta hit, Richards did nothing to contribute to the hit and Kaelta had ample time to think about what he was doing, given Richard's distance away from the boards makes it a much more dangerous play whereas the Girardi hit was more of a "bang-bang" play...thats the difference, thats the way the rule is interpreted....so the 2 minute penalty was called correctly...

Except for the fact that Kaleta's penalty was originally going to be a 2 minute boarding call, that's why he was in the box, only when the Refs feared for Briannas life did they call it a major and kick him out. That's my whole issue with the play. If it's a major... Fine call it a major. Don't call it a major because Richard's is playing possum on the ice. As far as the Ennis hit, yes it was a bang bang play, was it not dangerous?? Girardi should have had a hearing, Only because Ennis didn't stay down and dramatize the hit that it wasn't called differently.

So, even though it is Ennis' fault, Girardi is still called for boarding?

It's ridiculous. This league is so inconsistent. How many times as Ennis been boarded in the last few games?

Richards was holding his broken wrists, screaming that he broke his collar bone all while writhing in pain as if someone kicked him in the junk. Yet was ok to finish the game.

What did they do in the lockerroom so he wouldn't miss a shift?

And I'll say it one last time. If Torts was so horrified, why would he allow Richards to continue to play? He must have been worried about his star player right? Either he doesn't care about his health or the injury wasnt that big of a deal and Richards embellished on the ice.

Next time Ennis or Gerbe should go down like a sniper shot him in the neck and take a nap on the ice for 2 min. Draw the major and then come back for his next shift.

Can i propose we create a new thread where people can whine about the Kaleta/Richards incident? I'd love to move on to Carolina, etc.
