At this point in his career it amazes me that he is that bad when going to the poke check. He misses badly and looks horrendous doing it. Bryz has been solid for most of the season but his poke check skills are suspect at best.

He's not very good at poke checks. Not sure if that is a skill you can improve upon. But he has to stop trying it, and focusing on being in position to make the save instead of feebly attempting a poke check.

Yes. This Mclean is a solid coach. Their injuries have been worse than the Flyers as hard as it is to believe. Their Norris D-man, best forward, and a G who was playing as the best in the NHL. They have stayed competitive. Kudos to their coaching staff.

As good a job as Ottawa's staff has done, there's a few teams that overcame the "talent gap" and did well. The Flyers haven't.

Thank God we lost so each of us can concoct the best remedy to make us undefeated the rest of the season. This thread is gonna get more page hits than after the last two wins - combined.

Top candidates for this season for guys being lazy and downright stupid?

Coburn, Talbot, Fedetenko, Briere.

Kimmo has been pretty bad, and Schenn/Voracek were horrific to start the season.

Most of the team to be honest expect a few guys.

Timonen's play has been disheartening. He's got the injury he's trying to play through, but I'm not very optimistic of him being any where near a top pairing guy.

I kind of wish the Flyers didn't sign him for next year.

So if most of the team doesn't work hard, how are they expected to be any better next year when the team will be pretty much the same as it is now?

Flyers fans forget that he's probably still not 100% after being injured. Everything in here will be S.S.D.D.

Hard to win when lacking talent. Flyers have talent, their defense core isn't very good, but it could be overcome with solid coaching, attention to detail, and discipline.

If they have to play the next two games with Gervais, Gustafsson, and Lilja/Foster I can't see things going well.

Grossmann out with hip flexor (who knows how long). Mez coming back soon which should help.

I think Schenn and Grossmann have been their best two defenseman this year.

Always does. First you get the sheer, out and out trolls, then the "I told ya so" clowns that multiply after a loss. Then there's the sarcastic ones that think any kind of optimism is being a Kool-Aid drinker.

Whole lot of folks that make Lindsay Lohan look stable

I dunno. Let's just take the safe bet and be pessimistic. We have a 1 in 30 chance of winning the Cup any year. Being optimistic is ballsy.

Why bother being a fan if all you're gonna do is whine and moan? I am a fan of this team, not its record.

Not sure what that has to do with Timonen ever being 100% healthy.

Agreed. Guys like Fedetenko and Knuble would be valets parking cars at the United Center.

Where did this kid Saad come from? The Shaw kid is a stud, and they are playing without Dave Bolland, who outside of Toews is their best all around forward. They are loaded.

It's really hard to win when you keep making the same dumb mistakes over and over again.

Look at line changes tonight. They made at least 4 questionable or bad ones tonight. One was made by a veteran pair-Timonen & Coburn.

The key is how do you correct it? I'm not sure Laviolette has the answers. That said, I'm also not sure that Paddock or Murray do, either. We all know the normal steps-reducing ice time, bag skates, etc, etc. I don't know what will work, either.

i just know what has been tried to this point hasn't been good enough
