Line changes have been an issue since last year. Remember the playoffs against NJ? Ponikarovsky took full advantage of it then to score a playoff OT winner, and they've had at least two tonight that are primarily due to stupid mistakes-like basic hockey stuff.

Also...Bryz needs to forget the poke check. He looks like Pedro Cerrano chasing a curveball

I kind of think some of these bad D changes are the result of the forwards not being aware enough to absolutely ensure that the puck gets deep in the zone because, you know, the defense does need to change players on occasion. But I agree that it's ultimately the result of them pushing too much in a game that settles into a tight affair.

No, they have at least 2 wins, but it is dreadful

Agreed. He should just leave the net when there's a bad change on D next time.
- feelingkettle

That's pretty much what he did on the great attempt to stop the puck.

You know what, joke all you want. But most of this stuff would be fixed at some point with Murray behind the bench. If I'm in a tight game against the Flyers. I'll tell my players to keep checking. Laviolette will lose patience and tell his team to gamble more, and we'll get our chances.
- MJL

All jokes aside, MJl, I'm with you on this. I don't remember this bullpoop with line changes under Murray. And Lavy is tortorella's female dog, yea I said it.

Murray, was straight up when he said the players chocked. Not a great career move, but he was 100% correct. Flyers could do worse.

It's total team breakdown. This team is very talented. But they aren't very good right now. Need to play in both ends of the ice.

I can't watch the rest of the game. Pretty obvious coming out of the locker room for the 3rd, that they were told to press the offense. Timonen in deep leads to a scoring chance as he lazily changes behind the play. Then another defenseman in deep leads to the odd man rush on the first Nash goal. Then another turnover, bad line change, bad poke check. Bad move by the Coach. he just can't stand to play a tight checking game, especially on the road. And then the same mistakes over and over. Right now, they're not a well Coached team. Simple as that.
- MJL

Please explain how I just saw a Predator score on the Flyers during this shortene season.

Oh for the love of-- ANOTHER go-round of the Pitbull ad?

I'm more annoyed at Erik Gustafsson. He was at fault for a stupid, ill-timed line change on the 2nd NY goal, and an even more stupid pinch that sprung Nash for the 3rd one.

If the Flyers do not want to be a team that pushes the pace then they need to fire the coach and find a new identity.

Lava coaches an up-tempo game that preaches forecheck and back-checking hard. Nowhere does he preach for the team to be outworked along the boards all night long, or for them to be intimidated physically.

When they win all is good, but when they fail its time to change systems.

If the stat about the Flyers vs. Rangers/Devils is correct he's gonzo. They figured him out and he hasn't adjusted.

You still have to be aware. Make sure it gets deep and don't lollygag to the damned bench, skate off hard and get off the ice fast.

We talked about this before. Playing defense is about a hell of a lot more then back-checking hard. They're not well Coached.

Flyers were 0-6 vs. Rags last year, 1-2 this year, 0-6 in last 6 games vs. Devils (counting playoffs) so that's 1-14 by my math.

Absolute non-competitive dogpoop.
