wouldn't it be better to have him here than kimmo next yr?
- isaiah520

Not sure, but it's better that Kimmo's deal ends after next year, while Carle still has 4 years to go.

never liked him in nashville either. not a fan of giant goalies generally speaking.

Hopefully Stolarz becomes the exception. Although he's only 6'5.

nope.

Kimmo may not be the beast he was years past, but he is still a very good, responsible d-man who can generate offense.

The best part about Kimmo's contract next season... is that it ends with the season.

Carles contract would be an albatross

Brewer was picking up his jock after the play, too...it was an awful bit of work by both Lightning defenders.
- Jsaquella

And a nifty move by Malkin, not to sell it short. Not many players can make that play. He settled in nicely after the first few shifts. Crosby was buzzing all night too. Watching those two play is a treat. I can see why Pens' games are always the highest rated.

he's crying himself to sleep in a pile of money.
- hammarby31

He did what 99.9% of all athletes do, he took the most money. I don't blame him. I'm all for anyone getting as much money as they can. Capitalism is what this country is about.

It was a brilliant play by Malkin, but the "defense" by Carle and Brewer was atrocious

Yeah no doubt. TB is the definition of a 1 (maybe 2) line team. They've got nothing else going for them.

Nope. Not at all. I'm sure he's having a blast. Their goaltending is obviously the major issue, but their defense core stinks.

From what I have heard, Bernie makes Bill Clinton seem like a prude.

compared to what it would cost to get a top 3 guy on the FA mkt, his contract is not that bad. kimmo could have a rough time of it nxt yr.

Tampa got lucky to not get blown out. Lindback was flailing around after taking over for Garon (who looked sharp). the Pens first goal was a case of Crosby out muscling Stamkos and getting the puck to Kunitz, TB's second goal was a fluke off of Pyatt's face...

Here's the best part, who was the defenseman Malkin made that nasty move on to tie the game? Yup, TB's loss was MATT CARLE'S FAULT.

- NickTheKid87

Now let's answer which defenseman was truly at fault for the goal!

The turn over by Brewer was the cause of the goal. Carle is trying to get back in the play, and a World class offensive player got to the net and made a great move, that isn't going to stopped many times by anybody.
