Burke is a media whore, but he has put a lot of solid pieces on our team the last 3 years. He made some mistakes, but i think for every bad trade he made, he made 2 good ones. Honestly i wish he were back, providing he stayed away from the press.

Keep Smid, keep the kids, maybe trade Nschultz and hemsky for some picks or a young defenseman with some offensive upside (not a Shattenkirk-esque star) but someone who is younger to grow with the team. Draft well, all in to sign a bigger or grittier forward in FA (Horton/Clowe). If you land with Seth Jones or get a couple big centers in the draft, they make the playoffs next year no doubt.

Brown is good at his role, and he's got the 'stache.

By the way, RNH is kinda starting to harsh my mellow in my hockey pools. Any of you guys think he's going to start lighting it up down the stretch, or what? What's going on, is he hurt?

yea. he's had shoulder problems since last year. Hall just got shoulder surgery and it's done him wonders. I want EDM to end RNH's season for his shoulder surgery.

Maybe trade for a makeshift 2C while he's out along the lines of Zack Smith or Josh Bailey.

Burke's done a great job at retooling teams when he has the pieces in place. Moving A&B for C. Clearing out guys he doesn't like for guys that "fit"

He was miscast horribly in Toronto and made a bad calculation about his window to put a team together.
