No, but seriously how can you be down on your back with your eyes closed at one point after going head first into the boards, and not get evaluated. Especially after the way he skated off the ice. If it was a period later I would understand, but come'on, he obviously went back there, gave the trainers a wink and came back out - sbroads24
Who knows what he hurt, I didn't see the game live so I didn't get to see how he skated off the ice. But I can't imagine the Rangers, as much as I completely detest them, would put him back out on the ice if he had a brain injury. |

yea, that trainer who went out on the ice was obviously not Ramsey. The Rangers planned this whole thing...and what was with Richards feeling his extremities like he had possibly received a neck/spinal injury, what a faker...hope they considered giving him a suspension |

His stick isn't even touching him in this frame. Geez, dude, you have your opinion and we disagree, but for you to say anyone who sees it differently is "illogical" or "fabricating" is a little girlish and defensive.
"This hit does not deserve 5 games to anyone logical"---sounds kinda douchey, no?

can't think of a player that turned his game around more in the last few years
your thinking of the old cooke, not the cooke that has played the last 180 games
just like the "trolls" are thinking of the kaleta 3 years ago with most of their comments |

Yes. The extent of Richard's injury should have no bearing on the penalizing of Kaleta. Not penalizing someone (or penalizing less severely) because of lack of serious injury does absolutely nothing to stop (if not encourage) deplorable actions, like Kaleta's. The play was perfectly deserving of a 5 minute major/game misconduct, regardless of the fact that Richard's didn't miss any time.
I have a strong feeling that you wouldn't be so sympathetic towards Kaleta if it were Giroux that he sent barreling head first into the boards, injury or not. - eichiefs9
Fair enough.
My point is this: back-to-back penalties is nothing to sneeze at, and a 5 minute major is most likely going to play a big part in deciding the winner of any given game. And since Richards wasn't hurt, what was being penalized was the potential for injury.
The problem I have with that is - as with most discipline in the NHL - it's not consistently enforced.
Take Giroux and Malkin's attempt to separate G from his head 2 years ago, something I'll never forget - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_Sy-miL-2I Was there potential for serious injury? Was anything called? Should that attempted beheading have been a 5 minute major?
Granted, it's a fine line, but I think the officials should err on the side of less (regarding their influence on the outcome of a game) as opposed to more.

What was your final from last week? Mine ended up 500. Not quite sure how I pulled that off since I hated my team. |

I dropped 10. I have to say, I'm OK with it. I really did not like my team last week at all. |

You could go through all sorts of bad hits and say the same thing.
There is a problem with consistency in the league. But that doesn't mean that Kaleta didn't deserve a suspension. |

You said his legs were heading to the ice before the hit. They clearly aren't.
The "illogical" comment was referring to the fact that you believe Richards is somehow at fault for not expecting an illegal check from behind.
Maybe "fabricating" was over the top.
I'm honestly not sure what you were getting at with that last sentence. |
