Sure, next time don't jump to the defense of a clown until he gives you a reason to make you think otherwise. Until then, he is an embarrassment to the game. - TheJerseyDevil1
Of course I'm going to jump to the defense of a guy who's being called a terrible person when he in fact, is not.

Who gives a sh*t what he does off the ice? Hockey is played on the ice not at the local soup kitchen. Seriously, thats the best you can come up with? Original... - geta02it
Because like it was said if you went back and read what was posted it was about him as a person. Nothing about him as a hockey player. We all know it was a dirty hit. Thats how he plays the game. But to imply he is a POS human is different. So seriously go back to your own teams blog or worry about who is in control of your team not knowing the CBA |

Pardon me, thursday night.
Doesnt change the fact that miller is gonna get run. It was pretty funny watching him talk poop to the devils and the very next night get turned into a pretzel by nash and cally. - Bleedblue13
I highly doubt that. Oh, and Henrique wasn't talking sh!t back. If you read his lips he said "next time".....well what was the matter with "this time" when you couldn't score. That stuff happens all the time, he isn't gonna get run. |

The real penalty to the Buffalo Sabres is Patrick Kaleta is available to play for them in the other 43 games. |

I really do apologize for returning after I said I'd go, but I saw this one....
You have proven my point. Hall 100% plays with an edge, he crossed the line and his atttempt to make an open ice hit was careless and reckless and he got what he deserved. Equating THAT with a punk coasting into a crosscheck to the lower back? c'mon. give yer noodle a shake rookie - JLO961
Rookie? Move along. You're not wanted around here.
I'm not sure how one hit is dirty "but ok" and the other one is not. That is the dumbest logic I think I've ever come across. |

watch the video...kaleta bumps him...richard's left knee goes down, hits the ice...and then either by some miracle of physics or his own stupid attempt to dive.. his upper body snaps downward towards the boards...prolly didn't realize he was so close....and THEN he flops around like a seizing fish..
if u wanna ban him on the idea that in theory this was a dangerous play by kaleta...fine...1..2 games MAX
5 games...i have no respect for shanny or this league |

I've watched the replay several; times. and I gotta say:
1-Richards looks back and sees Kaleta is after him, and should expect something
2-the amount of contact in this hit was ALMOST NILL
3-I see hits FAR worse than this occur in every single contest, and say to myself "boy, THAT should've been a penalty"...and they aren't even called for 2 minutes, let alone 5 games
4-It looks like Richards' legs are going down toward the ice before the "hit" even comes
5-Why isn't the hit on Ennis late in the 3rd deserving of a suspension?
Reputation carries far too much weight when it comes to discipline in this league IMO. |

He was laying on the ice longer than he was out. I admit the hit was stupid, but so was the drama afterwards. You didn't see Ennis, a much smaller guy, stay down after he got his face smashed into the glass later in the game |

Care to explain why? - wolfhounds
Yes. The extent of Richard's injury should have no bearing on the penalizing of Kaleta. Not penalizing someone (or penalizing less severely) because of lack of serious injury does absolutely nothing to stop (if not encourage) deplorable actions, like Kaleta's. The play was perfectly deserving of a 5 minute major/game misconduct, regardless of the fact that Richard's didn't miss any time.
I have a strong feeling that you wouldn't be so sympathetic towards Kaleta if it were Giroux that he sent barreling head first into the boards, injury or not. |

Funny guy. this, last I checked, and taken with a grain of salt, is a hockey site. The game is discussed and unless I missed something, opinions are allowed. Every player in the NHL (for the most part) has charity involvement, its good for PR and generally a good thing to do... The difference here my astute friend is that you have a guy through his actions on the ice, is on the road to ending another players career and using your logic, eliminates THAT player from doing his said civic duty. Players like Kaleta and Cooke should not be given the privelge of playing in the best league in the world and I gaurenf'ntee, if he's not in the NHL, making millions, he's not the swell guy you make him out to be... perspective... As for the CBA comment, again, good one, well thought out...
Oh and one other thing, Brad Richards is a whiny little sh*t but lay him out the legal way (please). |

Non repeat offender would have gotten 1-2. He has a reputation and is a "repeat offender" by the leagues standard, therefore opening himself up to a lengthier suspension and a harder hit to his wallet too. |
