We can go at it all night, but I think we just don't see it the same way. I do believe that if the league was able to get tough on suspensions, and really increase the # of games it can suspend players, the hits will start becomming less. Right now its a system that is by chance, some players get suspended, some don't. There is no fear by the players to perform questionable acts. That you have to agree with.

I just find it laughable that you think any suspendable hit should be at least 1/5 of a season. And that if a guy does something again he gets the exact same punisent as the 1st time. It's so contradictory and dumb.

from what ive read and heard today from ALOT of "hockey people"- it is widely accepted that the kaleta hit was worse because of richards distance from the boards.

they said those other type of hits that we are bringing up are more safe because the player getting pasted is so close to the boards. less chance for severe injury whereas richards distance could cause career/life threatening injury FWIW...
