okay all pictures and stupid poop aside...your team is absolutely horrible and has one of the lowest levels of talent in the league if not the worst. your roster lacks so much heart and skill that your coach for like centuries got fired because of them. you guys have 2 less points than us and 3 games played more. you WON'T be making the playoffs for a 2nd consecutive year. nobody on your roster is worth anything via trade and your GM is underrated in the "giving out the worst contracts in the NHL" department. your roster is a bunch of lower-tier 2nd liners and 3rd liners with vanek. the bills suck too. buffalo is a cursed sports city.

Not to obfuscate the hit, it is what it is. Careless no doubt but Richards returned to the game I think PK will get 3 games off.

Sabres' Kaleta 'trying to do my job' during boarding penalty on Rangers' Richards

RALEIGH, N.C. -- With a disciplinary hearing coming at 3 p.m., the Sabres' Patrick Kaleta declined to get into specifics regarding Sunday's boarding penalty on the Rangers' Brad Richards. But he said this afternoon he feels like a "bag of garbage" for taking a penalty that led to two goals in the Sabres' 3-2 shootout loss, and he had nothing to say to Richards.

"I’m going to keep it as limited as I can, but I’m just sorry for the position I put the team in trying to kill that penalty," Kaleta said in the team hotel. "I feel for that, for putting the penalty killers out there and them getting the two goals. It makes me feel like a bag of garbage after seeing that.

"But I’m glad that our team responded with that. I’m proud of it and just going to go forward."

The Sabres were a man down when Kaleta cross-checked Richards in the back, sending one of the NHL's marquee players crashing into the boards. Kaleta was given a five-minute boarding major and ejected from the game.

"I was on the penalty kill, so on the penalty kill you’re playing a zone, you’re not really supposed to finish check, etcetera," Kaleta said. "I just play hard, and I was on the penalty kill trying to do my job."

The Rangers railed against Kaleta following the game, calling the hit "disgusting" and "stupidity" while condemning the right winger for repeated infractions through the years. Kaleta has made a point during the past two seasons of trying to clean up his image.

"I have changed my game," Kaleta said. "I know I have. I know players have seen that, and even referees have came up said, ‘Hey, I respect what you’ve done so far. As long as you keep showing that respect towards us, then we’ll respect you.’

"I loved hearing that and know that they’ve seen a change in my game, so I know I’ve changed my game."

Still, the right winger is in line for a suspension of at least one game and possibly five when he talks with discipline czar Brendan Shanahan over the phone today.

He had nothing to say to Richards, though, taking an eight-second pause after being asked if he had a message for the recipient of the hit.

"I’m fine for right now," Kaleta finally said.

Kaleta was out of line - Richards was hurt, but playing 2 minutes later...

Kaleta gets 3 games....just in time to return for the Rangers game next week...from there the Rangers can send whom they need to out on the ice to confront Kaleta, who will have to drop his gloves and fight....

He either defends himself or takes his beating - and we can all move forward with the season....

But we have chicken wings! Most Sabres Fans would agree with you. Besids Hodgson-Vanee-and I guess Pominville. The team is not very good.

Rangers play a lot softergamethan last year. Teams will continue to abuse them until they become a bit more assertive.

Kaleta cross cheched Richards in the lower back, something that happens 10+ times per game in the NHL. Richards lost the edge on his right skate and went into the boards awkwardly.

If the NHL wants to do away with this type of play they start calling it when players do it, not because players get hurt. Bottom line, if you can see a players #'2 on his jersy, any kind of check is off limits. I am okay with a suspension on Kaleta, as long as it is based on the hit and not the injury.

I dont get that. There are many tough plyers in this league that chose to wear visors, and I dont blame them. It is less about fighting/being tough then it is protecting your eyes/face from Sakes, pucks, sticks, etc.

IE) Hartnell,Ryan two of my favorites, tough as hell, but sport a visor.

Or go back in time 6 years ago and say Neil hit Drury cleanly.
