I'm not one to save or search for posts but I'm very sure they called them the best tandem in the league

Idk, all I know is that during their last 8 games the devils are 1-5-2. Injuries be damned.

I could see Sather trading Boyle in the summer for a third round pick to get rid of his cap . Then Miller can take his third line centre spot .

They have to give the pick back to the Jackets if they reach the Cup finals. Howson putting in a little insurance policy on it.

No word on his status, will likely play. Huge game tomorrow for both.

Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the update. Hate to see guys go down from a hit like that, even if they play for the blueshirts. Have seen too much of that on the Philly side of the puck. Enjoy the game. Should be some rock 'em sock 'em hockey.

Guess this is where I throw in the obligatory Rags Suck!

That hit was dirty, and Kaleta definitely deserved what happened to him mostly because he is a repeat offender. Sucks for us. Kaleta has actually been playing great this year, I think he has really tried to take the scumbag aspect out of his game, too bad he ruined it with this hit.

Honestly though can anyone agree with me that Richards might have exaggerated his pain? For real.

I can see Richards in that much pain for just a short time . I had a head to knee collision once that sent a charge down my spine and my whole body tingled for about two minutes . I was twelve at the time and the coach call it a stinger and at the time thought I was done . I was scared and I left the game but played the next day

When a jackass turns your body into this

You cannot make the assumption that he embellished his pain.

#1 just because his pain went away does not diminish the amount of pain he felt initially.
#2 if he did feel excruciating pain after being crumpled into the boards head first, wouldn't you be a tad freaked out too that there is a slight possibility that jackass just permanently damaged your neck or back?
#3 and finally, it's brad richards not some cinderella player. Brad does not make a living out of embellishing injuries nor has he ever.

So you sabres fans need to dig your heads outta your asses. You have one of the dirtiest players in the league on your team. Stop looking for reasons to lighten the severity of what a huge dip$hit you have playing on your team.

Your team sucking is the bad karma it deserves with players like that playing for you.

It was stupid on Kaleta to even touch Richards but I have seen too many hits this year from behind, much worse go un penalized by the league, including the one where Gerbe got creamed by the flyer. To me, Richards looked off balance or leaned forward and the cross check (again dumb, but not overly viscious) just threw himself head first into the boards. Richards looked like he got shot then got up and played two minutes later.

I'm no fan of Kaleta but to me this was a bit high. It's not like that play doesn't happen 100 times a night. If Richards braced himself properly and doesn't fall,we aren't even talking about this.

Having said all that, Kaleta is a punk and goes around throwing cheap shots to stir up trouble for no reason. So I can see why the league got harsh from the other perspective as well

Colton Orr. Your team has one too.

I watch every Sabres game, to be honest Kaleta hasn't been dirty at all this year up to this. His JOB is to get under people's skin and to kill penalties, I honestly think he has been trying to make an effort to not do that dumb poop anymore. As I said before, he threw all that in the trash with this stupid hit.

I acknowledged that Kaleta's hit was dirty, stupid, and deserving of the discipline. Do I really need to get my head out of my ass?

He hasn't? What about hitting streit an hour after the whistle in the last isles game in there when it was 4-0 with less than a minute to go?

Not even Sabres fans are defending Kaleta, it was a dumb stupid move, but Richards embellished it, don't care what anyone says, that was not a cross check, it was a, "Hey I am right behind you tap"

Nothing like continuing to stock the cupboard for the future.
- MidnightMarauder

They are in the position of always having to make moves like this bc they don't get the chance to pick guys like Stamkos or Tavares. So they stock up on theses guys hoping to nail one. Maybe if we threaten to move to El Paso we will be gifted the top pick when the "next one" emerges

Mark Staal, who played against Kaleta in juniors in the OHL and now in the NHL had this to say about Kaleta's cross check to Brad Richards:

“It was especially tough because it was [Kaleta], a guy who very rarely backs it up and is either on the bench or is getting kicked out of a game".

That says a lot about your "reformed" goon.
