Kaleta is a douche. He should be sitting and 5 games is probably about right. Looking to the future, what is the word on Richards? Is he expected to play tomorrow? I heard that despite finishing the game, he ended up feeling pretty banged up afterwards and was day-to-day. Should be a good game tomorrow.

He should have gotten at least 10.

Cally went with original move instead of going shelf on the blocker side.

Turned into a very reliable shoot out weapon, to say the least.

No word on his status, will likely play. Huge game tomorrow for both.

Looking forward to it.

Supposedly he very close to signing with us. I've heard that he has success playing in all situations on 3 lines with Saskatoon.

Richards is so soft - good god lol .. not even defending kaleta either,if anybody else in the league would have did that i would say the same thing... Richards acted like he just got his wrist shattered, but came right back and plays rest of the game like nothing happened... but on the same note, he COULD have gotten severely injured, i am not disputing that, luckily he didn't..But come Richards, your a stanley cup champion, no need for the dramatics.

That hit was so dangerous. I honestly don't know a single person that would risk breaking their neck to draw a penalty. That was painful to watch. Glad he got 5.

Take a surprise hit, from anyone, and fall into the boards head first, then talk to me about how soft he is.

Not even a huge Richards fan but he is not one to flop on the ice to draw a penalty.

If that happens to someone that isn't a professional athlete, that lacks that level of muscle density and you're looking at a broken neck. People that watch these games really overlook the physical condition these guys are in. That one freeze frame showed how much bend he had in his neck. Why even bother responding to a poster trying to rationalize it?

I didn't say he flopped, not at all, kaleta should have known better especially with his track record... Just sayin it's just hard not to be skeptical after how injured Richards appeared to be, but then finished the game like nothing happened.. Thats all I'm saying, not defending kaleta or anything, he deserves his suspension regardless, he potentially could have ended richards career.

It wasn't the impact of the shove, it was the location of the act and the surprise element of it all.

Just because he avoided a serious injury doesn't mean he wasn't shocked and hurt immediately after it took place.

The hit wasn't even Kaleta's most vicious, not even close from what I can remember. But boarding a player, while they are in a prone position, is so dangerous.

Some injuries just take time to settle. Ever get in a minor fender bender and feel completely fine, and then 3 days later you have crippling pain in your neck and shoulders? Same thing with a leg work out. You do a killer leg workout, and it takes 2 days before you're unable to walk up the stairs.

I think most of us can relate to both. Some credence to this theory, Richards skipped practice today.

We'll see how long he stays out, hopefully he doesn't miss any time, schedule starting to get busy and despite how lousy of a season he's had so far, they need him in the lineup.

Agreed, if he was really faking it why would he go to the locker room and miss the first half of the 5 minute powerplay when your team is losing in the 3rd period? Some people blow my mind yo

Anyone else impressed by JT Miller's game last night? He was really going hard in the 3rd. Taking everything to the net. So much so Torts had him on the ice with less then 2 mins left in regulation. Maybe gaining some of that trust
