I love what Kaleta does to other fan bases. He has never faught anyone smaller, most have been bigger than him. Hes not that big of a guy in the first place, 6' 1 200 lbs.

A little proof for you blind Also Kaleta pisses most off yes, he deserves the suspension coming to him for this hit yes, but Kaleta has done a great job at hitting clean lately. This hit is by no means clean, but it was very much a fluke. And he has only been suspended twice for when he wasn't. He's not as dirty as you all seem to think he is, just really good at pissing everyone off.

Patrick Kaleta targeted Paul Kariya's head on purpose with an elbow when he was back in the league after a long concussion problem.

It is one of the dooooooshiest things I have ever seen done by any player in the NHL

the question was what's been wrong with the Rangers this year.

it's the correct answer

Here I will link because you clearly don't know how to back up with evidence (probably a christian EDIT: Alright too far, but its besides the point)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRoJnAipEoU

If you watch this and think he is targeting his head with an elbow then you are blind. His arm is tucked to his side. He also makes an attempt to get in front of Kariya before hitting him, and while he is doing that Kariya loses control and bends over a little, that hit would be shoulder and chest if he doesn't lose the puck.

He was not targeting his head here at all

he knew Kariya was back to hockey after a long concussion problem.

He went after his head. He succeeded.

Probably one of the reasons he said this today:

"I have changed my game," Kaleta said. "I know I have. I know players have seen that, and even referees have came up said, ‘Hey, I respect what you’ve done so far. As long as you keep showing that respect towards us, then we’ll respect you.’

"I loved hearing that and know that they’ve seen a change in my game, so I know I’ve changed my game."

What could his religious faith possibly have to do with this? That's an area you should just leave out of any post on this site.

This convo also makes me believe that he is human. Like I don't think a sane person goes after Kariya's head. Kaleta grew up watching him and I just think theres no way any thoughts of injuring him.

When I hear "Targeting the head" I immediately think that person knows nothing about hockey. Sorry its just dumb, hits happen too quickly. It was not a clean hit, but if you think he is going after his head then you are delusional.

Cleaning up ones game does not entail becoming less blood thirsty, it entails learning how to make sure your arm and body doesn't follow through upwards into the head, and thats what he is saying in that quote is he's working hard on cleaning up his hits.

Well, with the exceptions of:
Darroll Powe
Gregory Campbell
Steve Downie
Cody Bass
Derek Dorsett
Daniel Carcillo
Jamie Sifers
Aaron Ashamn

I'll agree with you. Please continue

Last year, he threw a head butt at a player. He shoved hardened plastic armor into a player's face as hard as possible. This year he could have snapped a guy's neck (embellished or not). Matt Cooke is an example of a player with a bad reputation who turned his game around recently. Kaleta has not.

Have you ever played the game before? You absolutely can target the head on a hit if you want to depending on when and where the hit takes place.

Whether you think he did or not (I am not sure), skating from behind Kariya as he's standing still absolutely gives you all the time in the world to do that if you wanted to.
