McDonagh is going through a rough patch right now. I think last night was one of the worst games I have seen him play as a pro. Conversely, last night was one of Staal's better games. He was really good last night, and has been lately, with the exception of third period gaffe in the Habs game.

Nope... These hits need to be punished much more severely if we want to get them out of the game

And that should include Griardi's hit on Ennis as well
The only difference was that Ennis wasn't "hurt" and flipping around on the ice...
why isn't anyone talking about that?

ALL of these hits need to be a 5min penalty, and minimum 1 game suspension... And it shouldn't matter if the guy gets hurt for 5min, 5games, or 5 weeks...
Make the suspensions uniform!

First hit from behind, 1 game
Second, 3games
Third, 5 games... Then 10 and so on

The only thing that's going to get these hits removed from the game is equal punishment across the board
No more 1 game for this guy, but 3 for this guy...
Start punishing EVERYONE and you'll start to see a real impact

How bout bringing Newbury up from the AHL. I think he brings some toughness to this rosteer. We are way too 1 dimensional right now. I think he would be a nice piece and he has 50 points in the AHL. I think Torts would love this guy.
