Why should we care, if the NHL does not. If they really wanted to eliminate those types of hits there would be a real penalty.
If the cost of taking out a 1st line player by a 4th line player is 1,2 or 3 games thats a small penalty for weakening a team in the short and long term.
If the NHL wanted to be serious, the penalty would be 10 games minimum for 1st timers and increase form there, no matter the intent or injury inflicted. 3 strikes and your out of the rest of the year.
That being said Richards should not have gone back on the ice last night. If he is as injured as they say he is, the trainers and coaches should be fined as well. If Torts thought that was the worst hit hes ever seen, how could he allow him to return in good conscience? That guy should get 5 games for being a hyporite. - RynoBull
well, after Ryan Miller was run by Lucic last year, the Sabres let him play a full period before he was deemed too hurt to go on, so Sabres guilty of same kind of thing.

Seriously getting old now, only Sabres fans have called it clean, so I think we may have some sort of backing on this one - HankdaTank
Not one Sabre fan said it was clean.
Let me ask you this, if Ennis needs to be "more responsible"about his positioning before he got pasted into the boards which I think was much more a vicious hit, why is Richards let off the hook for not being more responsible as well?
And he was tapped by Patty compared how Ennis was pasted to the boards face first.
I'll throw up and listen now. |

I am am a BI Racial american. I have been to both places for business many times. The people in Buffalo are generally much friendlier, polite and nicer then people in NYC. Buffalo is also a very diverse city. To refer to the blog as a KKK meeting, is very offensive to me. It is not funny. And their is no place for comments like that at Hockey Buzz. - JohnTucker7

Sabres had a 5 on 3 just like the Rag$ and blew it, starting to see which team has the bigger whiners as fans here, as an impartial observer |

But really everyone else is just trolling him, can't you tell. - Putzfrau
I'm not trolling him. I am not asking for him to be politically correct. I am suggesting that he think before he posts such ill advised allegations of the city of buffalo. Although it may seem light hearted and funny, it is actually offensive. The KKK murdered, raped, beat and torturred people of different races and religions for nearly 100 years. I don't think that is something to take lightly, no matter what the setting. |

No. But let's face it - he wouldn't no an ice rink if he slipped on one. - hscesq
Total ignorance...he goes on to say ties exist but then explans the OT which describes how there are no ties and he called it a winning streak...seriously?? |

He was run, not boarded. Very different. He also didn't lay on the ice, apparently dead.
Torts can't have it both ways. If it was the worst hit ever how can be let Richards play? |

Stephen A Smith is a racist, plan and simple.
He hates hockey cause it's 98% white guys, while the NBS is 5% white guys. He would go down on "King James" in a heart beat. He's a joke... like most of ESPN. |

That was probably his best game in 2 years. He played physical, smart, and he kept his legs moving. If he starts playing like that every night look out. |

This is an unfortunate error, especially since the point of your post is to ridicule someone else. Please don't bad mouth the bloggers.

Who said anything about Ennis? Defending Kaleta and defending Girardi is very easy to do, one has a notorious history and the other is Dan Girardi. |

Noooo....and what the hell are you arttacking me for? My point is we have exhausted the Kaleta talk until a decision is made. I made my points about the hit and don't care to repeat myself at the risk of sounding like Mike Francesa... |
