Scoring isn't the problem on this roster. Upgrading top 6 is down on my list
- dbell646

This need repeated over and over again...

And again...

The Pens lead the league in goals scored. I'd love to have Iginla added to the roster, but he's about the furthest thing from a necessity at this point.

Go after him in the summer... maybe he will take a 2 year $8 mil deal to come play with Crosby. We'll worry about on July 1st.

Just a friendly reminder you have to give to get in trades. Classically speaking what you give away should sting as much as you are excited about the new player coming in.

Neal/Goligoski is the exception to the rule.

pass on pouliot bc we traded staal for him and im not trading him away yet... plus pens could have gotten a (frank)ing winger at 8th pick.....

and from all the reports i have read on dumoulin it sounds like he is an orpik replacement.. one of two defensive defensemen in the org

- nh4442

Harrington is our future on D as a defensive defenseman, that's why I'd never trade him. And Maatta has just SO much upside. Morrow will ba an all around like Martin.

Add to that, you have to look at it from the other team's point of view... Are they rebuilding? are they clearing out cap room? clearing out a roster spot for a young player? are they still contending and won't remove pieces from their roster? positional depth issues... etc etc etc

No team wants to give contributing players for guys like Tyler Kennedy or Eric Tangradi... Chances are they have their own overpaid struggling role players or AHL tweeners.

So are you trying to imply that TK Tangradi packaged together wouldn't get us a top 6 winger? I think you need to step away from the bottle my friend.

I'd also like to remind everyone it's a trade rumor website. Most folks come in here for Penguins chat but to also kick out pipedream trades they'd love to see. Anyone who takes it seriously enought to look up all that information is wasting there time as you can never determine how one GM values a player vs another. I'd say keep it light be unrealistic and have fun that is what Hockeybuzz trade rumors are all about.

Well, of course not... But that's just because Tangradi isn't hear any more. If you'd toss in Dustin Jeffrey and a conditional 3rd rounder, I think that we could probably get Iginla and Glencross though.

True... And I like seeing names brought up who would look good on the Pens roster. Most of them are guys who I wouldn't think of, and often lead to good discussion But, so many times the proposed return is just a joke lol.

The way you might get something cheaper is end of trade deadline for a player who will not be under contract the following year.

You mean too tell me that packaging an offer of bottom 6 wingers, AHL tweeners, 5-6 defensemen and random draft picks won't be enough to get acquire a Perry, Iginla, Oshie, or Ladd?

Actually, something will be done this week. They are only carrying 12 forwards. Philly isn't a problem since WB is so close, but I can't see them going on the road to Toronto with only 12. If a forward pulls something in the morning skate, they are screwed.

edit - I guess they could dress 7 d-men though..

I wanted the Pens to get Ladd when Chicago was dismantling their cup team. What did WInipeg give up for him I'm assuming picks but I can't remember how high. Regardless he was worth a 1st.

NHL.com lists them at #2 with 3.46 G/G, while Tampa Bay has 3.48 for #1.

At least they actually sent him down instead of scratching him (if that was the alternative).
