Guy is a moron. Don't sweat it, Gunner. It could be worse, people could start saying we will get Go Go back!

What is funny is he is a really nice guy. Got to meet him in the 'Burgh back in 2010, nice guy, just agree with the way he reports.

He got a few things done for me whilst I was there, always looking to help someone, as long as there is a good story to it.

You can't get a true sense of how it feels until you start getting the PM's from the person you banned. Some are priceless.

I can't lie I have very little sympathy for Marc Staal after getting hit in the face with that shot last night. He wore a visor all through his OHL term and has now made the choice not to wear a visor. He's not a fighter he's had 4 fights in the NHL and none is 2009 so it's not a fighting thing, it's a personal choice and a risky one at that.

It is a recurring incident that is to easily prevented for me to express sympathy.

That said, I felt the same when Hall got stepped on without his visor. A smart choice would have prevented/reduced that.

Hey, I am not speaking to his character, Walshy, sorry. I just know he is sensationalistic rather than informative in his style. Not my cup of tea. Next time you come I am going to buy you a really good steak and a beer and we are going to talk some hockey!

That is true, but when it is an injury that is so easily preventable all I can do is shake my head.

To me it's getting to the point that traumatic eye injuries aren't even freak anymore.

I'm not so sure that puck doesn't get in under the visor anyway. Just a freak play and regardless of who it is, you have to feel for anyone who takes a puck in the eye, especially one moving as fast as that one was.

But I do agree with you, I think visors would eliminate alot of injuries.

From our favorite Insiderrrrrrrrrr

Spoke to a source in Pittsburgh today who notified me that the Pens and CBJ have been in very serious negotiations about a deal that would see the Pens land Jack Johnson. According to my source, the Pens are willing to part with Simon Despres, but the missing piece to the puzzle right now is Beau Bennett, who Columbus would love to have included in the Pens’ package. The possibility of Pittsburgh sending over a 1st round choice and a 2nd from CBJ coming back is also being entertained. Mind you, a 1st from Pittsburgh and a 2nd from CBJ would only be a few picks apart due to the difference in standings

If the Penguins make that trade I am out. Their best defensive and offensive prospect for a guy who does not bring more to the team than they do. Hopefully Shero is smarter than that, and if it happening that way he better be asking for CBJ's first round pick.

If the Penguins are to trade Despre and Bennett straight across for a player I want players like Eberle, Skinner, Clutterbuck, or Ryan coming back.

Since Jarmo Kekäläinen already said this is outlandish I would have to say even Insiderrrrrrrr is getting a little ahead of himself. Despres and Bennett for Johnson? A guy that was supposed to be part of that teams defensive core going forward with Ryan Murray? I know Shero and Kekäläinen go way back but there's no way. Fr those mentioning Umberger too, he's a guy that talent wise may fit the bill but his contract is ridiculous. Frankly, so is Johnson's.

Oh I know what you mean, you kinda made my point, great guy, hockeywise though, always looking to shock.

With Madden, great hockey brain, bit of a tool. So it is funny how it works.

Yes a beer and steak sounds good over some hockey!

I'll say it again... if Shero is scouting anyone or trading for on the BJ's it should be a Dorsett type player and I would happily give them TK for him

It's simply just to be able to make fun of him more effectively. I'm not Catholic or anything but I have realized that he has a separate time for lent than others do. It's trade deadline time. He gives up talking about trades then. On account of being proven wrong within hours instead of months or weeks.

Shero is one stupid idiot if he does a deal like this.

This doesn't pass the smell test. Shero goes off the board on his trades; meaning the names rumored to Pittsburgh don't happen (see Hemsky and Johnson for the last four years). I would seriously question our scouting department and our GM if this one happened based on what we have on the roster. So, he is saying Despres, Bennett and a first for JJ and a 2nd? That is a horrid deal. You also don't have the assets to get a forward.
