Somethings up because if he was playing great he would be on the Leafs or this would be a bigger story in the media......

I read on another site that he's still struggling/not playing well in his own end of the rink..So while not having the chance to watch his play it's hard to know where he's at in terms of play..

I agree, Gardiner must be struggling with specific parts of his game because overall AHL performance doesn't always translate to the NHL, not only Kadri, but the Leafs current d core is proof of that.

My guess would be it has to do with soft/poor D play, same reason why Liles is eating popcorn with Komi...

He just hasn't gotten his game back, he returned to soon from the injury...right now the leafs dont want to rush him.
Let him stay in the AHL for the remainder of the season. That way the next time he plays with the Leafs, he can stay on permanently. No since bringing him up if there's any thought he could be sent back down.
Let him excel first.
