Sixers will have a new coach next year and Bynum has zero chance of being here.

Bright side the Sixers will have some cap space.

So essentially the Sixers traded Andre Iguodala for a 7 foot cripple with alternative hairstyles?

You miss Kubina? I know you like that trade last year.

Flyers also got Grossmann with one of the picks they acquired from those trades.
- PLindbergh31

Oh wow, I never realized that.

So we essentially got Schenn, Simmonds, Grossman for Richards.

What a trade!

Who cares? Iguodala wasn't taken you anywhere either. Clear his contract b/c he's not even close (skill wise) to the money he's making.

Why? What is the sixers alternative? Suck for a decade? No free agents are gonna come sign here.

It is almost a no brainer to sign him to a short term deal and hope he gets healthy. That is really the Sixers only hope to become relevant in the next 5 years.

He WILL be a Sixer next year.

So I went to the Flyers game on Saturday and STILL hear people crushing the Flyers for making the trades of Richards and Carter. There was a group of guys sitting behind me and they were bashing the trade and I turned around and asked them.. Would you trade Schenn and Simmonds for Richards right now? They said no. I said would you trade Couturier and Voracek for Carter right now? They said no. I shook my head.

Will that ever die? Those were great trades, and those 4 players prove it more and more every game.

I mean hell, Schenn, Voracek, Simmonds are right there after Giroux as our top 4 forward this season. All producing more than #18 and #17 I am pretty sure.

And in the long run, Couturier could end up being the best player we acquired in that trade!

Saturday I was bumming on Youtube and was watching a Richards tribute video with some highlights. It made me miss him and I continued watching other videos until I stumbled on an interview of Amy Fadool interviewing Richards I think in the '09 season talking about how he was mic'd up and didn't know what was going on with drills and stuff in practice.

Needless to say, glad he's gone.

If the Sixers get rid of Doug Collins, I bet they do better than the Bulls did after firing Collins. Book it.

I just looked it up, it was the 2nd round pick acquired in the Richards deal, which they dealt for Grossman.

Good work by you!

Bynum can't play. His knees are shot. You have to remember he holds all the cards here b/c hes a free agent. Would you sign here?

He may not have any other options if he goes back under the knife. The only teams that are going to take a risk on him are bad teams with money, like the Sixers.

I don't think the Sixers are going to offer him a contract. They have the best view on this guy's knees. He is going to miss the entire year. I wouldn't want to tie up big money in a guy who may not get on the court again. Even if he does play how long will his knees hold up before breaking down again?

Three hits in less then two weeks. All three someone has gotten hurt. One of three were clean. End result, the league has to start watching this guy due to recklessness. Personally, I thought the hit in Pittsburgh was an accident but I also thought it was irresponsible. Maybe the hit against Washington was an accident, but who's to say it wasn't revenge for Simmonds? Eye for an eye? My point is the suspension had to be handed down
- SuperSchennBros

It's not an accident, it was a clean hit. If it's a clean hit, how should Zolnierczyk get blamed? Guys get hurt on clean plays, it happens. I don't blame the guy that made a clean play when a hit results in an injury, that's stupid.

What is their alternative? There is none. Money is not an issue with the Sixers. There is absolutely no reason not to sign him to a short term deal.

The alternative is, they don't sign him to a short term deal and they have a horrible team with not even a glimmer of hope for the next 5 years. At least with Bynum around, there is some hope.

What makes you think Bynum signs a "short term" deal to stay here?

I wouldn't sign him. Going to cost too much $ for a player who can't even bowl without hurting a knee let alone play basketball. Dude can't even take a jump shot or roll out of bed pain free. Be irrelevant and stink for years. Use the $ on other players and get good draft picks.
